There are a series of public sculptures/statues or similar dotted about the moorlands of East Lancashire. Does anyone know anything about them - where they are, what they are etc. I fancy having a trip out to see them all.

Is there any sort of website for them? I've tried googling but no joy so far.

I think they're called the panopticons. The one that springs to mind is the singing ringing tree. Hope this helps your googling

Hi, I'm coming from Southport. Thanks for the wikipedia stuff, they are exactly what I was thinking of, but that only gives vague indications of their location. I don't really know East Lancs all that well, and don't want to be driving round in circles.

Thanks ajj1001, that's a brilliant link, tells me everything I want to know.

Head for East Lancs on the M65, Colourfields is in Blackburn in Witton Park, I have never seen it but Witton Park is easy to find.

Next head back to the M65 and drive to junction 8 turn right and head for Haslingden, when you hit the big roundabout take the first turning and head for Haslingden town centre, after the first set of lights turn left up the hill, find somewhere to park near the top and walk up the lane (it is signposted) then back to the car, turn left towards Rawtenstall, turn left again at the lights, heading for Burnley, after the big Reservoir on your right almost at the bottom of the hill just before the Ashoka restaurant turn right and the Singing Ringing Tree is up there, there is a car park and it's well signposted. Wycollar is in Pendle area, will have to check that one out for the Atom.

Colourfields is in Corporation Park Preston New Road, not Witton Park and theres also the Braid on Sudell Cross Blackburn Image Below
