What I want to do is save web pages of editing tips and general photography I have come accross into some sort of book.( like I cut out of magazines.) Ideally without all the adverts and other rubbish that come with web pages and somehow index them. Maybe with some sort of thumbnail so I can sort of see the page before I open it. Now I know this may not be possible I have tried favourites but I jut end up with a long list. What I would really like is something like a reference book of web pages I don't have to go online to see and I can sort them into some sort of order. I tried typing a few things into google like web page reference book and didn't get any real answer.
Let me know how you do it or if you just do a new search every time you are after something.

hope someone can help me
cheers
Ben

what about one of the online book producers like blurb, but dont print it

Or research what the online magazines use?

I have windows 7 how do you use the snipping tool? I have also thought about PDFs but haven't a clue how to save a web page as one because I could then open them as a PDF in iBooks?

Just start it, select the area on the screen you want it's very easy to use. You could download something like CutePDF which is free and then print any screen captures to it - it installs as a printer so when you print it just asks what to save the pdf as.

I must be missing something, but isn't this what 'favorites' is for  (another option being pintrest)

Hmmm... I simply mark the content, paste it into Word and save as PDF...?
Perhaps with a little trimming if needed...

If you have a Mac and you use Safari you can just save them to your "Reading List" and it saves them for offline viewing on any of your Apple gear.

I personally would just screen shot (my preference as I am on Windows 8 so it saves it automatically to a screenshot folder - Fn+F12). Then I would crop it in PS or Paint, then paste to a word document and save as PDF.

This Chrome/Android/IOS app is superb.

http://getpocket.com/a/queue/

I use it daily for exactly what the OP is looking to do, taking information from Flipboard and other apps on my iPhone and also other stuff from the web.

I have a premium Evernote account but GetPocket is much better for this sort of thing.

I use pocket a lot. Primarily as a "I want to read this later" tool but I also have a bunch of stuff that's saved for later reading.

The iphone app also has a read offline feature but I can't tell you how good it is as I'm rarely away from a connection.

That's exactly how I use Pocket and I love it.

As for the offline feature well I use it a fair bit and it works great. I am starting to accrue quite a good photography guide :)

Why?

Just press Ctrl+P and select PDF as the printer...

I think that Ben is asking how do you start Snipping tool??

Just type Snip in your Search Box (on Start Button) and up comes Snipping tool, ever so easy to use, if useful Place a shortcut on your Desktop

Thanks for this, got it yesterday.

+1 for evernote or pocket. both can do the job. i think pocket is 100% free, whereas evernote is paid for some features like mobile offline notes. evernote is a more powerful for organising notes, but pocket can also link to videos, a feature missing from evernote.

Just press Ctrl+P and select PDF as the printer...

Ha! I didn't realise I could do that; pretty sure I couldn't in Vista and previous kit I had. Cheers
