There is an animal living inside my 7D...

Okay, for about two weeks now, there has been the smallest little beetle, no idea what it is but its tiny, living inside my camera. How do I know? Well every now and then, I see him scuttling across through my viewfinder. I can't stress how small it is enough, he covers about 2 percent of what I can see or something.

The trouble is, I've no idea where he is.

I switched lenses a few times to make sure he wasn't in those, he isn't. I then checked the sensor, he's not on that either. He isn't on the viewfinder screen externally, so he must be inside the viewfinder or something. It doesn't come up on photos.

Any idea where he could be, and how I could get him out?

yep, try the rocket blower over wide light area (it can be a table or large piece of material), so you can see the insect when it falls out... Give it a try few good times,it will give u sooner or later...

Seal the camera body in a plastic bag & leave it in the freezer for a day, I don't think he'll bother you much after that.

Not sure this one knows how to get out, the poor thing is getting slower and slower!

I'll give a rocket blower a go, see what happens. He's currently scuttling around the bottom right quadrant from what I can see.

Is it a Thunderbug? Where my parents live, at harvest time you can just about guarantee these crazy little creatures get into the LCD of at least one of their laptops and ruins it. This is a yearly occurrence sadly.

Be careful you don't somehow squash it in there by shaking it too much or blasting it directly with the blower. Better to hope it dies quickly.

Nope not a Thunderbug, we get those here too for a couple months of the year, it's a proper beetle looking beetle, just incredibly small.

I had something similar when i first got mine! It went of its own accord but I was worried it would show on all my pictures but it didnt. It one day just stopped, I have no idea where it was and how it disappeared. It was tiny, I would have guessed the sized of those really tiny red insects you sometimes see.

Little update, he's gone quiet for a while now. I think he's exhausted from the two weeks hes now spent continuously marching around my viewfinder. I'd just love to know how he got in, in the first place.
