Yes
....this found in the back of my garden!! It seems our garden refuse bag was a perfect breeding ground for a huge wasps nest....we found this out after my boy got stung! A neighbour came round and torched it...I then finished it off with a whole can of Wasp killer.

A rough count of the eggs and combs would estimate around 1-2000 wasps when hatched!!

a few years ago when my kids were about 6 and 4 we were playing in the garden when I noticed a lot of wasps, they weren't bothering us, just flying past so I followed them where they flew into a hole under a tree.

Right, straight down to B&Q, can of wasp killer, it said wait until dusk as they'll all be in the nest so I did.

The little sods had covered the hole up with leaves so I got a long stick and started poking about trying to find it, by now it was nearly dark, next thing BZZZZZ BZZZZ BZZZZZ

ARRRGGGGHHHH me running up the garden chased by about 100 wasps, they obviously had a back door:suspect:

Next day I got a man in
