Left the office on friday and went straight out on the town so left my camera bag behind.
I went back to work to collect it on Sunday to find the office had been broken into:annoyed: we had several computers and plasma screens taken from the office, but I feel I got hit the hardest with my entire camera equipment stolen.:thumbsdown:

Today we had the loss adjuster round so hopfully wont be to long before its replaced..

Currently on the look out for knocked off stuff in the Wilmslow area, Cheshire:bat: :bat:
 
Oh you poor thing....I'm in the process of replacing all my gear after every bit was stolen in Feb, so I know just how you feel.......:'( :'( :'(

I really hope you are lucky and get it all replaced quickly. Best wishes and have a hug! :hug:
 
That really is tough mate i hope insurance coughs up.
 
You will be sure to tell them you were looking after my 1ds mk2 won't you ;)




sorry to hear about the loss of your kit, i hope they replace it for you sharpish.

Tomorrow I will chase the insurance, Jessops will also be receiving a call to order up me some new goodies.

Price from Jessops and then order from the net like Purdys or similar and pcket the difference.
 
or better - price from jessops order twice as much from purdeys/warehouse express/other camera retailer much much cheaper than jessops (which isn't hard is it?)
 
Oh no! The rotten *******s :(

That's one of my biggest fears. I hope getting your replacements is a smooth process.
 
My insurance company (Eagle Star) didn't give me cash, they actually took the list of what I had lost and went shopping! They then posted the items to me. Still waiting on the 50mm lens and 4G card, but all else replaced. What's more, where they couldn't get exactly what I lost, they got better......my bag is now twice as good as the one I lost :) and the 2G Ultra came as a 2G extreme lll :) I just hope things go as well for you.

Just a quick question.. Do I take this oportunity to upgrade the body ? If so how far you think I should go??

I have considered the 5D but I can’t seem to get it body only and it’s coming in around 2K. I’m just worried I will spend 2K and not notice the difference at my level of photography. I think timing is against me here as it looks like they are about to launch the new 40D and I have just been told you can’t get 5D body only as its about to be replace with the 5Ds. Unfortunately I don’t have the luxury of waiting as I have a very big event in 3 weeks time.

HHmmm what to do?? It will be the 30D or the 5D but I cant decide:bonk:

Primarily motor sports photography, road rallies etc. and a lot of shooting moving cars from a moving car..

No, I dont think I need to go to full frame, just taking the oportunity to upgrade as I dont think the 400D does the 2.8L lenses the justice they deserve.
I would like somthing between the 30d and the 5D I feel the 30 wont be much of a jump up and the 5D might be an over kill.

I rang Jessops yesterday and asked them to put aside the only 5D they had left, I cant get down till Mon or Tue, so will play in the shop maybe it will sway me to have a good ole play around :shrug:
 
i would go for the 30d myself, 400d is for people with midget hands...
 
So it took me awhile to get down to Jessops, but things are a little crazy at the mo..

9am Today I pull up at Jessops Deansgate Manchester double parked right infront of the shop to pick up the kids (see pic to see my kids)

So it took me a little longer to collect them from the shop, as you do, I got carried away playing arround :woot:
Then across the shop comes a shout 'EXCUSE ME YOUR ABOUT TO GET A TICKET' I drop every thing run out side and kick the living daylights out of the traffic warden :bat: (actualy I just jumped im my smoke and left)
I drove around the corner and abandoned it on the pavement:shrug:

Back to the playground and after a short discussion (I just picked up the 5D stuffed in a memory card and battery) it was sold..

To sum up I now have a better camera than before same lenses and still not got a clue how to take good pictures. but who gives a s hit I enjoy it:thinking:

I upgraded to a 5D after considering the 30D. Picked it up in the shop, popped a card in, and you couldn't get me to put it down or even try the 30D - I was smitten. Just something about it feels right and it helps having a 20D as a backup. You won't regret it. :woot: :woot: :lol:
