The Theatre Royal in Hyde, Manchester are having a Heritage open Day, where members of the public can go into the theatre and look around. This theatre is slowly decaying and is not expected to survive. There is a campaign to save the theatre, but it has already begun to be stripped of its assets.

I Will be there during the afternoon, taking pics, but if anyone fancies going along to capture what is left........


The Theatre Royal will be open to the public on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th September from 9am and 4pm Guided Tours around the Theatre will be undertaken at Regular Intervals by Committee members and Volunteers.

Will be Saturday PM, due to work.

As it happens - my MD is on the committee, so i 'may' be able to get to places i shouldn't :suspect: :naughty: :suspect:
 
As you are prob aware the Tameside Hipperdrome shut down despite protests and the cinema in Stalyvagas is now a club , wonder what the Theatre Royal"s future will become.

Exactly,

Hence why i want to get in there before they rip it to shreds.

I went into Rififi (Stalybridge Cinema) while it was being gutted, but without camera as it was via work. and have worked in Tameside Hippodrome a few times.

No i work for a company that installs AV / CCTV / Door Entry / Access Control / TV & Satellite Distribution system etc, so we get to some very nice places while they are in a state of semi-ruin.
