Yes
so I ashamedly I have watched some of the xfactor this time around.

entertainment on a sats night the g'f likes to watch but I have been drawn in despite this.

however, as music goes...it's just a singing competition and I'd much rather get down to the local venues and listen to some proper music written by talented songwriters....and the xmas number one has been ruined by the SyCO marketing machine...
therefore.....with this in mind.....these two facebook groups are well worth looking at...

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE FOR CHRISTMAS NO.1

JOURNEY 'DON'T STOP BELIEVIN' FOR XMAS NO.1
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gi...1433170&ref=ts

I'm really keen to get a proper song to the xmas charts instead of reconstituted marketing pants to pay for Simon Cowell's next Aston Martin.

what do you think?? do you care even?

more reading if you care..

It's not really even a singing contest though. When you give the vote to the general public, it's a popularity contest. And the general public are tone deaf!

Steve.

It's a TV show, not a signing or talent competition. They care about rating rather than sales (which are a sideline).

But anyway, who bloody cares what the Christmas number 1 is, Mr Blobby was hardly better :P

I want the see the Muppets Bohemian Rhapsody at number 1!
One bunch of muppets beaten by the original and best...

that's a fave of mine on youtube...very very good!!

the last line is legendary

Can't view your links as I don't have a Facebook account, and it's asking me to sign in to view them.

Oh well, never mind.

"**** you i wont tidy my bedroom"

whilst its entertaining it wont work. cowell et all will still earn the same amount of cash regardless if rage bother the top 100 (and interestingly enough there are record company links between the two)

lets face it it wont work, mainly because 300,000 folks on a facebook account wont make any difference expecially given that probably 250,000 of those keyboard heros wont actually by the record, they'll just join the facebook group and think that automatically counts as action!

record sales dont count as to what classes as good music anyway, susan boyle is a standing example of this, shes making bucketloads of cash singing other peoples good songs in a way that curls peoples toes, she might have a good voice and an interesting back story but lets face it her voice is nothing special compared to thousands of other singers out there, shes just been swept up by the high pants publicity ratings train

Watching X-factor?
I'd rather vomit in my own shoes and then wear them! :gag:

And RATM for number one? Do people still listen/care about the number 1?

When was the last time Christmas number 1 was actually a christmas song that hasnt either been re-hashed or been a mass produced bullcrap song from some ***** TV show?

Last Christmassy song that got close was The Darkness a few years back, but that was beaten by the wrist slitting cover of Mad World.

Couldn't give a monkeys what's no 1 , I haven't cared since Joe Dolce kept Ultravox off the No 1 spot with shaddap ya face

hasn't this finished yet? good news I read on the teletext this morning - there might not be any more as Cash Cowell isn't getting the money deal he wants from ITV - please let there not be anymore...

this is nearly as bad as strickly come bruce show

How about 'soldiers letter' by the soldiers- bit of xmas in it- Ok so its unashamedly soppy, but who cares, all profits to the ABF too

Having heard what they did to Journey tonight I think it's time someone from ITV was executed

Ugggh X Factor! I'm from Witham which is also where Olly Murs (one of the people in the final) is from, and whilst the whole thing was a load of rubbish imo, I was still annoyed when they mostly showed Colchester! I know Witham is small and insignificant but come on! :(

Link doesn't work Staffi

I agree but I have read that they are only giving 16p per cd sold to charity..The rest go to the record company etc etc etc

In theory I should be all for the Soldiers, 2 of the 3 of them are CAMus soldiers like myself. But I just hate the song with a passion

Not sure about only 16p going to charity, I doubt the ABF would be too happy about them saying 'all profit to ABF' if that was the case.

Was at a Bill Bailey. Concert last night. He came out n said "who wants to know who won x factor?" Then he just came out with "it was Joe, If you have a problem with that, get a ****ing life!" Priceless :)

and they would probably shoot them, do you guys get 2 violin cases - 1 for the violin the other for a tommy gun in case concerts get rowdy?
