The worst thing about photography for me is....

Looking at nice new gear but just can't afford it

Oh well maybe one day

££££££££££!

when you get home and realise the shots aren't as good as you first thought :shake:

Having the time and money to go somewhere interesting to shoot

Being asked to shoot a wedding because you have a big camera

1. Money
2. Money, I'm a student
3. Travelling, seeing as I can't drive! :bonk:

Plus Mk II solves the problems of MK I,and as soon as you got MK II,MK III solves all the problems of MK II and so on :suspect: :(

Once you start driving, that's another drain on your money. Resist for as long as you can!

Steve

Just the cost of insurance has put me off learning! I'd rather struggle to get around and have a bit of money to play with than waste £2,000 or so just to be able to own a car worth a couple of hundred quid! :gag:

Time. There is never enough of it and family and work has to come first so photography has to be fforgotten about sometimes.

I agree with all the above.

1 Got up 04.00 on a Sunday morning in the Summer to photograph the sunrise over the estuary. Clear skies, looked very promising. Found thick cloud bank on the horizon when I arrived and it didn't shift and it completely hid the sunrise.

2 Not being able to afford a decent computer with calibrated screen to process photos properly having spent too much on cameras and lenses.

3 Despite having a vast array of lenses, finding that the one you could really use for a shot you don't have, in my case a FF UW zoom.

4 Carrying what feels like tonnes of photographic equipment across country to shoot the badgers in a hide you have been watching. Because you have your camera the badgers don't up!

Time to learn, try different setups and their effects, learn some more, find locations, learn PP. Repeat.

It's definitely worth getting a licence but you don't have to get a car just because you can.

Our apprentices at work don't seem to realise this and they spend about half of their salaries on insurance and the other half keeping their old bangers running.

Steve.

Oh and not having anyone to go out with when I get chance to take the camera out

Finding time as mentioned & trying to come up with something to shoot ( people)

Oh and the fact that when I do get the time the weather is against me

This is me at the minute, I've had a new camera for 4 days now... for 3 of those it's rained constantly and then today I've been in uni all day!

I guess I'll learn between now and finishing uni. At the moment though, apart from the pain of using public transport to get around for social or recreational stuff - I can't even justify the cost of lessons :p

Where I'm currently living, it takes a 3 minute walk to get to uni on a morning

If your new camera if the 7d, then don't worry about the rain. It can take it.

My camera can but my lenses can't :(

Thats a shame. One of my primary reasons for getting rid of my 100-400 and changing to a 70-200 was waethersealing.

However with a plastic bag covering the lens and the camera I am sure you would be ok. I have a brother who lives in Canada with much much worst weather than we get, who will take his dslr without weathersealing out without worrying. They are tougher than you think.

Seeing the work of other togs and realising I'm not that good :(

Constantly fighting the urge to ditch commitments and go off to the highlands for a week of wild camping and photography.

One I can definitely relate too.

My other problem is fighting the urge to ditch a summer holiday with the other half and buggering off to Iceland for a week.

Spending time writing out a thread on tp and no one answering!
