Interesting video and article on the Windows XP Bliss Wallpaper. Definitely a photograph I will remember for the rest of my life.

God I used to hate seeing that image. Priority one when doing a fresh install was change the bloody wallpaper. I now know who to blame! Thanks for posting :)

I'd much rather open my back door and be greeted with rolling countryside and blue skies than a run down greenhouse

After around the 20th install of XP, you'd change your mind :)

Just kidding you, it does look a lovely place though and ive installed XP hundreds of times, still run it on a home server.

Just shows you how you associate imagery with feelings and moods. In any other situation that would be a really pleasant image to look at, but because I associate it with installing XP I hate it.

It does look to be "photoshopped" though

Funny you mention imagery and moods, my better half is a mental health nurse (im her homework) and they are currently studying dreams of paitents, seems that the more clinically insane someone is, the more they are likely to dream in black and white, same thing with depressives, strange or what

Colours have, definitely. Even Velvia at -0.3 wouldn't have given that blue... even with a polariser. I think people dounted whether the scene even existed, not whether it has had post prpocessing... as it blatently has been "enhanced".

Doesn't surprise me actually. We're visual creatures.. all of us. It's our primary sense.

Whenever I saw this image it reminded me of the teletubbies
:woot: I HATE IT.

Like David, I changed the desktop to a more pleasing image than the rolling hills and had all but forgotten them. I'm lucky enough to be able to see a similar view only a few minutes' walk from here, albeit without the mountain in the background.

I quite like it , I wonder how much he sold if for .
