I had a search and couldnt see another thread like this other than the new toy thread, so thought Id start one. Mods please feel free to delete or move if its not appropriate.

Basically just a thread to tell everyone how lucky you are to have such amazing friends and family for buying your photography kit for xmas.

I ended up with a Nikkor AFS DX 35mm 1.8G, a Lowepro Slingshot 202 which I am massively happy with and a book called Creative Digital Photography: 52 weekend projects by Chris Gatcum which is rather inspirational and has given me a boost into trying a lot of new things, definitely worth a read for both begginers and pros.

So what about you guys?

I got an external HDD, bit boring I know but want to use it as a back up for my other HDD, would hate to lose all my photos

I got one (1) t-shirt and one (1) comic book. That was the whole loot. My plan of telling everyone not to buy me anything is working 98% effectively ;)

It also means I can buy the lenses I want instead of unwanted presents for everyone else :)

Lee starter set, wide angle adaptor and Hitech 10 stop.

Now waiting for some light and nice weather to go and play.

I got three photography books..Full Frame by David Noton, landscape workshop by Ross Hoddinott and the Photographers Vision or something similar by Michael Freeman...DVD on mastering landscape photography to follow

A couple of wildlife books, Frozen planet blueray and I bought myself a Lee starter set, some soft ND grads and a Velbon geared macro head :)

Christmas is a bit crap for me usually so I treated myself to a:

CANON EF 50mm f1.8 II Lens

&

JESSOPS 360 AFD Flashgun

Merry Christmas to me :)

I got santa to buy me a new tripod I got a 3 legged thing Jack first impression is it is well built.

Lexar USB3 card-reader..............Brilliant it is too!

Canon EF 50 f/1.8 II and Tom Ang Digital Photography Masterclass book for me.

very happy

Photography related stuff: A Nikon ML-L3 Remote release and a Hama Lenspen. Plus National Geographic "The Photographs" book and issue one of the new mag for Nikon users.

Oh, oh...plus a photo of my little girl mounted on an acrylic block which is rather nice :-)

Five different bottles of good quality Brandy  Nowhere near enough to see me through till Febuary let alone all of 2012 :(

My good lady got me a Super-Takumar 50mm f/1.4 Manual Focus lens for my NEX C3. Bloomin lovely it is!!

Tamrac Adventure 10 backpack from the other half, big enough for lunch, camera kit, tripod, hide, laptop, cuddly toy, fondue set.....
BB

I was lucky enough to be treated to a canon 70-200mm f4 USM L lens.
ooohhhh yeahhhhhh

Lots of gift vouchers for Amazon as people gave me blank looks when I asked for camera equipment! Least I can get what I want now

Redsnapper RSH-12 ball head... can't believe how well made it is for the money !

No gifts for me, except for the Tokina 11-16 I bought myself that is :D

What did I get? A Canon 20D with an 18-55mm kit lens, a new PC and some cheap accessories that my mum though would be useful :p

Some amazon vouchers, some pennies and chocolates, to which I added a squirt of money then went out and bought an camera and a couple of lenses :)

I actually had a year without anything photography related which was strangely refreshing but I guess reflects the fact that I have everything I need- well almost;).
Finally got a copy of the wealth of nations which I've thought about buying for some years and never got round to it myself so just asked Santa to get it instead- not exactly exciting but it's nice to have it. Suppose I need to reread it as well...

You never have everything you need ;)

Canon 70-200 f2.8L
Canon 580 exII

Both second hand but mint off Mr Barclaycard :D

A new polo shirt of my best friend who can little afford her bills so thats the one that mattered most.

Some money off my Mum who at 77 has decided she has no idea what I want as Im 51 now LOL

Some comedy socks off my little doggy friends.

More than any money can buy the love and friendship of all my mates.

I got an MP-E65 macro lens and flash rig, absolutely awesome but very tricky to use. I've had no luck outside with it so far due to the weather. I took a picture of a daddy long legs yesterday and I could count the dimples in its compound eye.

Decided to ask Santa for an iPad 2 32GB as my original 16GB was full, and nice Santa listened ;)

Lots of free space again

Photography wise got a mint Rokkor 85/1.7 :D and Scott Kelby's latest book 'Light it, Shoot it, Re-Touch it

Just to make you all jealous, I got the top of the range vtech Kidizoom!

Just picked up my SB-910 speedlight with the help of some xmas gift money so hoping to put it through it's paces. I've been a bit "anti flash" in the past but I've really started to like flash photography a lot more recently.

I treated myself to the Fuji X10 (which has almost made my 7D redundant). ;)

My daughter got me the iPad camera connection kit and my wonderful missus got me the Black Rapid RS7.

(Best present was definitely Big Trak though... Tons of nostalgia there!)
