Look outside the window this morning and see yet another day of skies literally filled edge to edge with clouds of grey..absolutely destroys my will to do anything and ****es me off.

Aye, it's exactly the same here where I live, non-stop drizzle since I got up at around 6.00. So much for this so-called barbecue summer we were supposed to be having.
 
I am in Devon and spent the last three days on the beach, but alas its cloudy today but still warm...
 
Actually, over here on Costa Del South Kent, it really hasn't been too bad at all. We've had plenty of sunshine and the dryness continues as my lawn is still looking brown and parched.
This summer won't be remembered as it being the most memorable but it is a vast improvement on the previous two summers.
Unfortunately since I work in a tomato greenhouse, I'm not at all a summer lover as I hate all things heat and sun-related . . . but here's the funny thing: my three weeks-long holiday break starts this Friday . . . yaaaaay . . . but the weather is expected to turn much more autumnal-like by the weekend with rain and gales across the whole of the UK!
Now how come I'm not terribly surprised by that. Course the weather will turn crap the moment my holiday starts. It's The Law, happens every time. :bonk:
 
It was lovely when I got up, rain by lunchtime and it's been grey and miserable since. This weather really gets me down.
 
Yup, totally agree. Promised my daughter we'd go out this evening either to Dunraven Bay for the sunset (phah!) or to Clevedon Pier... no chance in this grey dull light.

Forecast is better for the next few days though, fingers crossed.
 
There isn't a lot we can do about it, but it still makes me feel like it's a wasted summer again. My bike has sat in the garage for weeks without me riding it. Every time the weather is good I'm busy. Every time I'm free the weather is *****.
 
Richard, I understand your frustration with the bike. My OH managed to get out for a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon. He's been getting a bit frustrated not being able to get out (and I like getting a few hours to myself to boot).

I suppose if the weather's bad, we just have to find things to shoot indoors (or do something else). I thought this from Ajophotog was a smashing idea.
 
The sky is grey, there are very low clouds, its peeing it down.....and I am soooo pleased as it hasn't rained here for weeks :D

I'm off to the West Highlands on holiday next week. Just checked the forecast and it looks like I better stick another set of wellies in the car :(
Still, at least it should keep the midges at bay.
