I ordered my Sigma 70-200 f2.8 at the weekend and it was due to arrive on monday but because of the weather it hasn't arrived yet.

The worst bit is that my car isn't working so unless they deliver after I get home from work, I can't get it til saturday.

There is nothing worse!! all the excitement when the day finally arrives then nothing!! I hate waiting for things if i buy something i want it NOW!!

he he that's what used to happen when you bought the gear in a shop! Do they still have these? :)
 
I way the pro's of waiting a day or so against the con's of spending a bit more in a shop, unfortunately ive only got Jessops or LCE near me and i think Bill Gates would need a loan to buy some of the stuff from them!
 
I agree - I haven't bought ANYTHING in a 'proper' shop for years (apart from food). But then I live 10 miles from a biggish town and 30 miles from a city. :)
 
with this lens it was £635 from the net, or £629 from jessops (withouth the free x2 TC) or cameraworld in chelmsford (12 miles away) was £660.

So I saved money with the net but can't stand the waiting lol.

I want it I want it I want it NOW lol

It's not being delivered by Parcelfarce is it?
I had new Lowpro bag sent out to me on monday but according to their tracker, it's still sat at the local post office from where it's sent.
I spoke to the supplier today and they called the Royail mail and got the snow story from them.

Tell me about it ......... I'll soon be posting a story about waiting from kit from Clifton Cameras that was supposed to be here 8 days ago. Sent RM - according to CC website they expect me to check with RM if it is being held back.

I always thought that when you paid for something the obligation was on the supplier to get it to you.
 
My new camera arrived today. Even worse than your problem, my Mrs grabbed it and wrapped it up for my birthday. So i've got to wait till saturday, looking at this lovely wrapped up box that has my new camera inside.

Going off topic slightly (sorry OP).

You can't blame the supplier if Royal Fail or Parcel Farce cock up.
However, any decent supplier who sends a lot of parcels using these services should be on the ball and give good customer services and make an effort to find out what's going on.
What annoy me is when suppliers have stupid policies like 'please contact us if you have not received the item after 10 days'.
In my opinion, if it's sent on a 24hr hour service then that should be the case.
I can accept a couple of days delay if there is extreme bad weather but having to wait 10 days is pathetic.
The way things are going, my Hoya filter coming from HK will be here quicker than a bag from Cardiff.

Yes, that's what is really annoying. The lack of effort to correct matters.
 
Got a phone call yesterday from warehouse express saying I would get it today, bit annoyed they only sent it out last night but i don't care now. Can't wait to get home and open the box :D
 
Used warehouse express for first time. Orded nikon 70-300mm vr at the weekend, sent tuesday recieved wednesday about 20 mins after arriving home from work also parcel force. :thumbs:

Can you let me know how good the lens is as I am also looking at this lens. :thinking::thumbs:
