The virus. PPE. Part 1

Do you not believe that the powers that be don’t already know exactly the origin?
It’s another govt game,.....a sick and deadly game.
One that ensures that we (joe public) are the losers ( nothing new there then!)
Sometimes I wish there really were some elaborate conspiracy behind all this, rather than a mindless natural phenomenon that doesn't care what we think.

This morning my nearest Dental Practice posted an item on Facebook.
Part of it reads as follows:-
"
‼️ESSENTIAL UPDATE - Please read and share.‼️

This morning, we received a very important email from the Chief Dental Officer of Scotland, advising us that as of today (Wednesday 18th March 2020), all dental practices across Scotland will be severely limited as to the dental procedures we are allowed to provide.

We will not be allowed to use any of our dental equipment that uses water, or creates a spray, which rules out being able to provide routine fillings, root treatments, crowns and bridges etc unless it is classed as a severe dental emergency."
And opticians to no routine eye tests in spec savers ,only emergency eye problems seen and even they will be triaged .. just got my eye test done in time I.e last week ...McDonald’s is drive through only from today .. and Glastonbury is the latest big gathering casualty

Dare I say that if "Jeremy dustbins" announced a £330bn fund the first questions would be of a certain magic money tree

Edit: To be clear I'm not saying this spending to support the economy isn't a good thing, quite the opposite in fact.
The so called £330bn 'fund' is a loan guarantee, not a loan. It means any company that defaults (having borrowed money from commercial banks) will have their loan repaid by the Government. Once again Govt are protecting the banks if they lend to companies that are flakey......

25 loaves! somebody likes sandwiches and toast........W.......T.......F?? This is exactly the behaviour that I was alluding to.
I saw someone load 12 packs of 18x large eggs into their trolley at Aldi yesterday, he was made to return 8 at the checkout. Why he would want so many eggs is a mystery to me?

juggling?

I never understood that story. If he was so clever why 2 fish and 5 loaves. Why not one of each?
I’m sure you know that those books have translated, mis-translated, cobbled together, bits left out, many many times. Possibly the original version made more sense in the where it was current :). It was probably hummus and pita bread (which is vaguely fish-shaped) anyway :)

I have no idea why dentists and opticians haven't been stopped from routine examinations, tests an glasses fittings. In an opticians, it's not only the optician that is in very close proximity to the patient. If you're choosing new glasses, the staff are literally 'in your face' and are at severe risk of contracting and transmitting the virus given the number of people seen.

Hair salons as well I would have thought.

The government really need to do something drastic very soon to stop these virus factories from killing vast swathes of the population.

Now over 200,000 recorded cases, 8,000 deaths. There must be millions of actual infections.

Bound to be an enormous number of unidentified cases and since many people have no symptoms the true number will never be known.

The situation in China is stabilising and they have now closed the large emergency hospitals that they built (may become bat sanctuaries :exit:.

When this virus first became well known there was hardly a case to be seen in Africa. Now there are small numbers all over that continent. Look out for a massive upsurge in a couple of weeks. Covid 19 will run rampant in that continent.

Why will it run rampant any more there than what it has elsewhere?
The Africans may prove to have a more responsible attitude than what us Europeans have had.

I suppose eventually we'll get pretty good estimates from testing samples of the population for antibodies to the virus, which will also give us an idea of how many infections are asymptomatic. I wonder how many African countries aren't conducting much testing? There are some suspicious gaps on that map.

and to prove a point ,the lady that I know whose husband has the symptoms and should be in lockdown posted photos of her new hairdo on Facebook last night ,, apparently the excuse she is giving is she rang 111 and they told her it was alright .. I doubt very much that she told them the facts or even the truth . just as long as it doesn't spoil her birthday plans so will probably be out in the local pubs tonight .. ... I rest my case

A few years ago, I was eating anywhere from a dozen to 18 egg whites per day.

All schools in Wales to close by friday.

Surprising they have closed the large emergency hospitals when they still have over 8k known active cases, of which over 2,600 are serious / critical.

On the plus side the roads are definitely getting quieter by the day over this side.
Its School holiday level and possibly less at the moment, and there is no reason to suspect that it wont go even lower.

Noticed that too here, road traffic is down significantly and that can only mean 1 thing regarding air quality. Hopefully parents will make sure the kids not in school are kept in doors , although I fancy the opposite will happen before too long.

Eurovision cancelled

they have already dropped the hint that schools in wales will be re-purposed ?? Hmmm hospitals but that needs staff ? Barracks a possible use .. ? We shall see

So Dominic Raab says he's doing all he can to help the Philippine Govt repatriate the British people stranded in Lima.

Who voted for his bunch of f*****g clowns?

Lima, Peru? Haven’t seen where he said that.

Edit: Though he has form on this (Dover no important) it is not clear that he really said that about Lima & Phillippines, seems like jumbled quote of a Parliamentary answer.
