This is what I saw when I was at work today.

I love the planes and helicopters that go over where I work :)

omg, thats awesome. We get helicopters where i work but its only the police ones when they are chasing the mans robbing the cars from the scoucers and they make a break for it down the East Lancs road

I get a similar thing where I work,,,hawk trainers, chinooks, North Wales police helicopter, a spitfire occasionally & the Beluga transporter amongst others...the only problem is my office is about 400yds from the runway & the bl**dy things don't half make some noise !!!

Yeah but what a noise!!

Cool, you get a Chinook, I just have to contend with woodpeckers, squirrels, pheasants, the odd fox, rabbits.......

All of which sit in the shade so can't get a decent photo.

Thats pretty cool :p

We get quite a few Hercules flying over my school (which is on the edge of town and countryside) so often they fly over at about 500feet and Ive been in a car near their airbase where one flew over at about 200 feet :p Quite a sight I tell ye :p

Regards, James

I live a few miles down the road from RAF Odiham so chinooks are something we see alot of - sometimes a little too close and low for comfort. It's when they come in convoy late at night that annoys me. Two miles in the opposite direction we have Farnborough Aiport, and across the road, we have MOD land where they do shooting exercises at 4am on a Sunday morning. Come to Aldershot - it's great :suspect:

There's nothing I hate more than hearing a plane or chopper.. especially a Chinook flying over the office but I can't see it.. drives me nuts.

They used to do exercises on a disused airfield yards from my house.. It was quite a shock having propeller aircraft flying over then about 12 helicopters landing in darkness except for the eerie glow of the night vision in the cockpit. I thought we'd gone to war.

That'll Prince William nipping off for a burger?

I grew up four miles from a Vulcan base. Lucky me - it never got nuked!

The sad thing is as they've now closed the RAF camp just up the road from where I was stood that sight will be less and less common now.

I had a Chinook fly over the office today. We have military helicopters of one sort or another most days.

Central London, overlooking the Thames!
