oh dear i think if every villan in England were to read that muggings would soar briefly followed by a huge overbooking of easy jet flights, headed straight for Guernsey.

The UK is nowhere near as bad as the media would have us believe. Remember they only reports the bad stuff - not the good stuff.

Yes, anti social behavour is higher than it used to be, but not significantly. Although again, if you believe the media, every group of tenagers will be out to mug,stab, or happy slap you. This is utter tripe. Muggings at every cash machine - no. Just no.

I genuinely think one of the worse things about this country is the media - no longer are they interested in reporting the news impartially - although that is a problem that started well before you left.

it doesn't matter if the media tells the truth or tell lies, they are the ones who control the people in this country. They tell us who to like, who to hate, who to vote for and who to go to war with. A quick example of how 2 faced the sun is, lets look at a few front covers with jade goody. I know its a bit off topic, bu please bear with me. It doesn't matter if you like her or hate her, i personally thought she was a gobby pain in the ass, but that is irrelevent. The point of this is just look how the sun chops and changes its opinion to suit her situation, one minute they hate her, the next they want her babies....

"Evict the Face of hate." Say the sun, using clever words to invoke emotions to readers and to blow the story out of porportion and comparing jade to Hitler pretty much a sure bet it will trigger peoples hate towards her.

"Vote out the Pig" by any standards that is just out of order and offensive, regardless of your own opinion of the woman, but the Sun even started a hate campaign to get her out because they really hated her that much.

Good rittance, get that bully out. Pretty harsh and unforgiving attitude by the sun on the Shilpa Shetty fiasco

"BRAVE" jade shopping for her wedding dress. Yes Jade now has cancer which means the Sun are now painting her out as a saint and want us to name schools and streets after her. Wow, thats a bit of a turn around for the sun. Especially when some of their previous comments of her were pretty unforgivable and painted her out to be a disgusting human being who should be pitied.

That is the power of the media. What makes it even more funnier is when they make slanderous stories about celebs, and then that said celeb is doing a fly on the wall documentary and they are reading out the made up stories in question and are like "i was suppost to have done what? well thats news to me, but its in the paper so it has to be true." Just goes to show that so much of it is blown up out of proportion and i cannot stand the OK magazine ads on TV. is there at least one issue that doesn't have anything about Jordan in it? and how they keep on telling the story on how peter andre spills the beans, yet he has said on many tv chat shows that he doesn't talk about jordan to the press and keeps his business to himself.
