Or the Take Your Box Camera To Work Day 2013 Thread

I figured since there seems to be a fair amount of interest in TYBCTWD I'D start a thread so we can see the variety of box cameras being used.

I used my Agfa Calck last year and this year I'm going with the late 1940's Agfa Box, it's not as sharp as the Clack but should produce some interesting images, I'm going to try it with some colour film this year I think.

Here's the Box

There's some debate on the original Flickr group as to what constitutes a box camera http://www.flickr.com/groups/boxcamera/discuss/72157632725181355/

But as long as your camera is basic and boxy I think it should be fine, so let's have a look at your box

..arrived yesterday. Love it, even came with wooden spindle (which i wont be using)

I've optimistically put some gp3 in for tomorrow, let's hope for a slight cloud break.

I'm looking forward to it and I'm actually going to work :D

I would take it if my box camera had a lens on it, it's half way through a pinhole conversion and I've yet to buy a pinhole lens, so it's just a hole...

Just knock one out of a juice can and duck tape it in place :)

Since I work in a dull office I'm going for the take your box camera with you to work instead. My morning shot was somewhat ruined by the haar rolling in before I got up, the mist has finally burned off but I doubt I'll be able to sneak out side!

Just bobbed a roll of Fomapan 100 in this Brownie....hoping to get through it this afternoon although it won't be "taken to work"

I'm struggling for light. It's dull and overcast where I am....come on Sun...

Whit.. what.. when is this day you speak of? And why are you doing it?

It's today. Just for fun.

Well the weather has improved, problem now is i can't see anything in the ground glass...

We'll just check the exif, remember and change the date on your camera. :D

S'all talk and no action this thread...

I shall be cracking open the Clack for this project....without a moments hesitation..:)

Got a roll shot shot this pm....could be middle of next week before i get chance to dev it though.

You did better than me...bloody weather. Might have to fudge the exif...

I had a lovely day for it but was stuck in the office so tried something different in the evening, I'm interested to see the result. I'll be a while before I get them developed, going to wait until i've got a few films ready to go and make up my first batch of D-76 so I can use a chunk of it while its fresh.

I suspect it aint so easy with UK weather tbh .....I'm very fortuanate although had yesterdays light been like today then 100 iso film in a box brownie would not have been fast enough...not even down here!

Actually, I'm confused by what this thread is about.

I am not going to Flickr to find out what a thread at TPF is about......that's nuts.

So I'm just, at some point.....going to take my box camera to work, shoot a roll of "occupational docu" and post em here, if that's not what its about....well I'm just gonna be OFF TOPIC aren't I.....lol

Took me Agfa Box to work the day after TYBCTWD because didn't know about it. Only semi-successful 'cos I forgot you only get 8 frames off a box, not 12 (Schoolboy error) and no second film, so only journey to D. R. Harris her Majesty's funny smelling chemist, and not the weird olde interior. I don't work there, I was going to install some photographic stuff there. Here are the non-disasters..

Not bad for a single element meniscus lens. Couldn't see where I was pointing the bloody camera tho, and I had cleaned the viewfinders..

Finally got round to scanning mine, had the GP3 under a library for a week.

"Bulb mode" doesn't work on this camera so I tried making about 10 exposures over the course of a minute to try something different. Unfortunately the numbers on the backing paper have shown through!

Some of the contrasts in the redevelopment area, the building on the left is even older than my camera!

I drive past it every day, taken on my Box Brownie. Excuse the flare...

Very late I know but here's one of my results:

Late ?

Lol.....these just turned up in a backlog of B/W souping.

As it happens, it was lampost fixing day back in February, Hull in the morning and Bradford in the afternoon.

I gotta say, if all the planets line up with Jupiter and the wind blows the right direction, Clack can take a fair picture...

I like the Clack, I used mine in last year's TYBCTW Day. I think they produce some very nice shots considering their simplicity.
