The TP iPhone Apps and Updates Thread

Fair point Ven.

Point retracted.

Will add them in a few mins!

great thread thanks :) my few to ponder :

Sky+ - free, if you have sky+ or hd a great way to set up programs to record if your out and about. ( A bit slow to run though even on wifi)

shazam - free, fantastic app hear a song you dont know the name of, run the app it goes away and then comes back with song title and artist ( also provides links of where to buy)

red laser - £1.19, great app, scan a barcode on an item toy, dvd etc and it goes away and comes back with the cheapest online prices, very handy could save you a few quid in the long run.

amazon uk - free, if you use amazon, good program to use out and about, the best function is you can take a photo of something and send it to amazon and they send back what the item is with a price ( if they have it) ( I have tested good with a cisco book, microsoft mouse and a blackberry 8900 it does work.

All added and up to date including USA apps.

Thanks one and all! Keep them coming!

Some of my favourites at the moment;

Redlaser
Words with friends (A scrabble type app)
iDisk
Sky+
Sky Sports Mobile (With 3 months free)
Paper Toss
Tweetdeck
Sky News
iBank
National Rail
Flixter
Flickr
Analytics
TVcatchup (A website but with an icon placed like an app)

The following two are only available via a jailbreak;
iBlacklist (Ideal for people with a business who want to block any unwanted sales calls, or anyone who just wants to block a particular number from calling/texting)
Cycorder - Video for those without the 3GS

Anyone get tvcatchup to work reliably on 3G? I've been trying it for a couple of weeks and it buffers 20 seconds or so and then it keeps freezing. Looks like a great idea but O2 can't keep up with it.

Tioti TV+ for recording Sky+ programs when you're out and about :)

I've been using simple DoF on my touch for a few weeks now. Really simple and good for familiarizing yourself with focal lengths and their DoF at various distances.

Mine works fine with 3G.

Just downloaded this, it's great! My wife is now going through the cupboard zapping everything

That's what I did, but it's depressing to see how much you could have saved if you hadn't already bought it

Can we have one of these threads for WM devices as well? ;)

Muchos Gracias for this one. Especially good as it is such a great togging app I had missed!

Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/

It's fantastic, I use it to have a set of synchronised folders between my macs and the fact I can access all the stuff on my phone is a complete bonus!

The tioti tv+ app is loads better than the sky plus one, and their support seems good aswell when I've used them.

I tried whatsapp and liked it, but eventually went for Ping. Awesome in every way and uses usernames rather than inputting mobile numbers which would make me worry about who was keeping them/advertising etc.
Adding rest now. Cheers Guys n Gals!

Wedding Pose - This App works on all Iphones - Weddingpose is an application that shows you key shots for weddings and gives you ideas of shots to take which obviously you may want to revamp yourself in your own style. Not bad really quite fast and handy to have onside.

Photoshopmobile.com - This app again works on all Iphones - This app is very good, i only have an 8gb iphone and alot of the time i like to keep photos on my phone but i love my music too. This app lets you store all your photos on your photoshops account that you make and using Edge or 3G you can access your photos. Also incorporated in this app you can edit pictures on a basic level e.g. Crop,Tints,Saturation,Black and White, Effects.

Best Camera - Again works on all iphones as far as im aware - Just a smaller app but this one is mainly about effects

Good Reader - Iphone tested it doesnt specify a certain iphone so i assume it works for all - This app is fantastic and lets you read PDF documents and word documents. You can make data transfer from your PC to your iphone over wifi so word documents and PDFs go on your iphone for reading etc.

Just a heads up also for anyone who watches TV if you go on your safari web browser and go to google - search for : iphonetvcatchup. This is a beta at current but ive used this for 2 months without any problems. Obviously iphone users will know that you can turn a webpage from the iphone safari web browser into an application.

Interesting concept, I may well give it a go

Not sure if there are many on this forum interested in viewing the international space station as it passes or not but there is a great app called ISS Visibilty which uses your location and tell you about the duration and direction of any passes for up to 30 days.

http://www.psychicpsquirrel.com/ISS_Visibility.html

Another good app for star gazers or people interested in taking star trail photos is pUniverse, this gives you various information such as which planets & constalations are viable from your location at waht times, the postion in the sky where you can see them and will even show you a diagram so you can locate them easy.

It's really useful for locating the polaris for star trial photography.
