It like it.

It is nice. It is finished in black.

The shutter sound reminds me of the first time I kissed a girl - it is lovely. My tummy went all fluffy when I held it.

The screen is really good. When I look through the hole I can see lots of things. Nice.

It looks like Maggie Thatcher in that it's dystopian styling is very 1980's circa Canon T50 / Canon T90. Classic Konica Minolta in a way, but classicly Sony now.

It takes great photo's.

24mp for - £2k is a steal.

ISO is great. It is not as good as the D3. If someone learns about photography it could be...you know, shutter speed and that.

Nice to use it on a tripod at the egge of a cliff with low ISO and loads of filters. Or in a hedge with bumble bees at one to one macro. Could be a great street camera with a tidy 50mm/85mm on.

Overall, I like it. I would buy one. I would also buy the Zeiss T star optics thats are up there wirh L and Nano glass, if not subjectively better. If/as I slow down as a gent, I may tap into the Sony product. I like it a lot.

Pictures here. Hope this review helps. The handsome fella was supplied by my Mum. Don't have nightmares....

Looks a superb camera, low ISO detail looks wonderful for landscapers.

I am really tempted... really really tempted.

Looks like a stunning bargain and the Zeiss lenses look awesome.

DPReview looked at it today too... they liked it:

Never have I been so close to crossing the Rubicon to another system...!

I swear no alligiance to any brand and if I were in the market for a new camera then I would buy it, it is as simple as that. I would go so far to say the the top end optics surpass both Canon and Nikon. Seriously. The build is sublime and the feel is right up there.

In an ideal world I'd wait for the D3X... purely as I have a lot of Nikon glass.

But the D3X is going to be big (D700 class body is the max I'll carry), at least £3k (the diff will buy a Zeiss 24-70 + change) and its not out (yet)...

so its a real option, and the samples I am seeing show superb resolution.

I could get a A900 + ZF 24-70 for less than the cost of a D3X alone I think - and running two systems would work fine anyhow.
