The royal baby

It has apparently lost a pound in weight

The silver spoons have fallen out

Bet it will not be called Wayne Rooney Wales.

anyone else notice when they came out with him earlier that the baby was wiggling his fingers? the way he was doing it reminded me of mr burns in the simpsons!

You should all be ashamed of yourselves taking the Mik out of such a wonderful event

I'm sure it's just me, but it seems wrong to me that she had 3 of the very best Obstetricians and Gynecologists, plus God knows how many midwives and other staff helping her with a perfectly normal, uneventful delivery.

People who live on council estates often have to make do with a shared trainee midwife - and yet their babies are just as important to them...

People who have had the very best of obstetricians / gynaecologists in attendance have also lost babies at birth.

Class matters not a jot.

I support the Royals and wish all the best to Wills and Kate and their little Prince.

My attitude in the past has been the same as many appear on here until I thought what if we were a Republic? A shady ex-politician or an ageing celebrity as head of state?

The Commonwealth is very important not only to us but many of it's members.

There is so much interest in the Royals from abroad not only are they a tourist attraction, they are part of the make up iof Gt Britain.

They are not that expensive to run apparently...a few bob of tax every now and then.

The Queen has been a great and hard working HOS and her old man has given me a laugh every now and then.

Long live the Royals and may they continue.

Oh and despite this I'm not one of those twiats that would camp out on the street and do that daft stuff when there's some sort of event going on etc..

I was delighted to see the wee man arrive.

I'm not a Royalist as such but when you see the rest of the world showing such interest I feel quite proud that we have them.

After having QE for so long - I think the Charles / William years will see the Monarchy freshen up over the coming years.

Also - after watching Alex Salmond looking so pathetic in his attempt to get that Saltire up behind Cameron at the end of the Murray final at Wimbledon - it was great to see the people of Scotland celebrate the birth.

our first born had 13 people round her, and one midwife for the second. she didn't need anymore than one for Samuel. having a trainee there as well is no big deal. also they were in a private place so 5K a night gets you a lot of people looking at your bagingo lol

celebrating your cultural roots is not pathetic. I would have done the same if I cared about tennis. people celebrating because someone they don't know gave birth is beyond weird.

Not for a royalist it's not. Celebrating the future king and queen of England giving birth to the future king would be TOTALY normal and understandable.

Not sure whether you can describe the future king of England giving birth TOTALLY normal:bonk:

Mind you, I think Austin as a first name has a good ring to it:exit:

It's Totally normal for royalists to celibrate his birth.

I prefer Martin Luther

Kong might end up rather appropriate after a few deaths in the family...

(Not my joke but can't remember where I first heard it!)

I have always been very pro royal for the reasons you say... although would never camp out like some do either. Like you say, a President would still cost money and be corrupt!

think you'll find it's the head of the united kingdom, Great Britain and the commonwealth not just England.

and it is not totally normal - falls under the same mental category as celeb watching.

I've been amazed how many closet royalists i have in my facebook friend. I really thought people my age (25-35) didn't give a monkeys, how wrong i was.

Absolutely deplore the concept of royalty. Couldnt get rid of these pompous clowns soon enough.

Whoever gets elected....it's the wrong one...people moan
Kate pops one out....people moan.

For me we have had some good happy events over the last year or so, it's great to see some good news for a change, we are a small country with a great heritage, history and so on, let's celebrate it not knock it.

Sorry. My reply reflected on my level of "cannot be arsed enough to bother about it."
Ah, in that case you succeeded superbly well bud.................:D

I thought the last king of England was William III of England in 1702 and the last Queen of England was Anne in 1707 and from then on Queen of GB?

Nope. The last King of England was Edward VI, the son of Henry VIII, and the last Queen of England was Elizabeth I. I think you're confusing the Acts of Union (1707) and the Union of the Crowns (1603).

Nope. William III was crowned (and titled) as King of England and King of Scotland separately (and King of Ireland for that matter). As was Anne.

Just because the same monarch was king of England and Scotland from 1603, doesn't mean that their regnal title was conjoined.

Lol, but atleast I dont mince about living off the taxpayer just because an ancestor won a war somewhere
