So this is my movie ala film stills that I've been working on for the past few weeks.

It wouldn't do it justice to put it into any still photography category - but here does just fine.

Hopefully you guys will like it.

Shot on a Sony V1 for the HD footage and a variety of medium format cameras. Bronica ETRS and a Mamiya AF 645 I think. A Mamiya Twin Lens too!

Movie is HERE > http://www.vimeo.com/918650

Edited in Final Cut Pro 6 FYI.

Thanks guys, happy viewing.

(posting for egotistical positive feedback. Spent 2 weeks on this for a project due tomorrow, I know its not perfect, by any stretch!)

I liked it ;) but one thing...theres this date at the end 28 june 2008 (or smth like this) maybe it should be 07' ? :)

Worse than that bastic, it was Sat 28th March 2008 he died. Why the bloody hell I put that date is far beyond me! Thanks for pointing it out

interesting project.

To me this shows the power of stills photography over film.
The impact of those B&W stills says far more to me than the moving images. You pause to look at them, take them in. Real atmosphere and emotion is held in a still image.

I like.

The date at the end, yeah.. I guessed it was to be a date of significance, but might have been better to have his birth and death date on there. Added impact and no chance to misunderstand the relevance.

Great work, onto the next!

I'm having the same problem watching as Hwg, but what I've seen I like very much. Can you alter the date at the end perhaps putting birth and death dates in it's place?

Wishing you luck.

I wish I could! Everyone knew so much about him, but upon reflection - so little. The death date is the date underneath his nickname. But his birthdate?? No one knows.

kick yourself now .. That's the real core of this story then!
Regular pub patrons, all pals, all enjoy time together. Everyone knows each other yet they know very little about each other.

Capped off by somehow hitting the viewer with the fact that this guy was known by all, yet nothing was known..

Maybe too late as you've got to get it handed in, but maybe well worth considering as a revised edit when you get time.

I really think it could add serious weight to 'The Regulars' story.

Excellent, seriously good.

I love the use of music per each person. Very lyrical.

Well done.

Moving stuff:'(

Great short film and I loved the photographs of the pub.

The final Marc Cohn track is really fitting too!
