The Rant Thread

why do people call it AN hotel.
should be A hotel ffs.
i dont live in AN house.
stupid bloody language.

But you do ride a Norse, dontcha?

I remember pulling up my uncle and grandfather over "an hotel" when I first heard it as a boy, but to me, now, saying "a hotel" sounds affected and slow.

Ooops, don't want to turn this into an anti-rant thread.

Back on track . . .

An elderly gent I knew would rant over peeps saying "chocklet" instead of "choc-o-late".

Another thing which ticks me off is that there is not one BBC news presenter/reporter can pronounce mayor correctly. It is always 'mare' instead of may-or. Getting the London news here, even though we're well out of the city in the south of England, we hear it a lot.

Another BBC-ism which I first noticed with the Welsh newsreader (Hugh Edwards?) is when he pronounces "says" as "sez", as in "The leader of the Opposition sez.....". I've also noticed it with a few other newsreaders as well. :bang:

Yes, that's another one I noticed too!!

sorry to wake this thread up again when you were all having a good anti-rant .. but

Got home from work to find some b******* have stolen the number plates off my little car. Police notified. Just hoping it doesnt cause too much hassle.

Some low-life hijacked my husband's paypal account and now he's being hassled by some guy who can't take it in that it was a fraudulent transaction :annoyed:

(no complaints about paypal though-who have been great:thumbs:)

look on the bright side
they could have stolen the car and left the plates behind!
(sorry!)

Oh b****r I'm normally a positive soul but here's a poetic rant! :)

There are some things I need to vent
Some stuff that gets my goat
So read this ode and if its pants
I'm sorry, I'll get my coat

So many things to rant about
But topmost on my list
Is the solicitor that we engaged
He's really got me p******

He did sod all and now he's got
The nerve to send to me
And invoice for eight hundred quid
Methinks he takes the pee!

And my poor car is in dry dock
A prang - to my dismay!
With thanks to the bloody idiot
Who turned right into my way

And my poor young daughters all upset
And has been in floods of tears
Her Uni boyfriend's split from her
At the start of her third year

And much to the distress of my
Dear wife my son has grown
A silly tache upon his face
(He did it on his own)

And still I travel up and down
Away from home most nights
To Tamworth where I work all week
Away from London lights

So forgive me for this mini rant
My woes do not compare
To others here who've lost much more
Or been treated so unfair

I've had my say, I'll go away
And maybe things will turn
From bad to good, I wish they would
I guess we live and learn :)

Time for a Rant

I bought myself a shiney new 24" TFT last week but when it turned up (on Friday) the idiots had packed it with the mains plug against the front & cracked it. One phone call later they arranged to pick it up (on Monday).

Today I get an email to say that they are refunding it, when I phoned up and said that I just wanted it replaced they said "oops, just buy another one".

Now I've got to wait for the refund to appear in my bank (in case they forget ) before I can order again .

aaaaaaarrrrrggghhhhh :bang:

(sorry!)

Look on the black side... someone with a similar car is currently getting you loads of speeding tickets! Hope the police gave you a crime reference ;)

Never quoted myself before :D

Just phoned them to order a new monitor & when I mentioned why to the sales woman she asked me to wait while she checked something......

Turns out they've cancelled the refund & they're shipping me another one :bang:

nearly ended up with two :help:

First shoot tomorrow and just nailed two cuddly red things, could be a disaster...........

The fleabay side of a well-known togs' emporium declined my best offer for a gizmo. If they had sufficient stock I could've bought several via their own website at the weekend and qualified for free P&P. The eBay auction has now ended and it's revealed that they accepted the best offer (same as mine!) from someone else and now have no stock of the item.

Grrrr... Had a cold yesterday, nothing at all to speak of really, but wiped me out last night. So fell asleep on the sofa at about 9pm (ish) now awake and can't get back to sleep!!!

Thank god for TP !

Car went in for a service today, garage (main agent) calls up..."the gear change is a little stiff, would you like us to sort it for you?"

"is it a big job?" I ask

"no, just a couple of minutes"

"oh, good, how much then?"

"Not much...£80 should cover it"

The perfect thread! I love complaining!!!!!

here we go then, ill bullet point it for you all!!

Parents got back from turkey yesterday, and causing no end of hassle.

Due to some strong anti-biotics, i am now suffering from mild depression, which makes the follwing seem even worse.

BEcause of the tablets, i am really struggling to concentrate at work, meaning i have become a crap waiter, when I should be proving myself, I couldnt even count change earlier.

I'm a little skint due to paying lots of bills.

I'm gutted that the girl iv been seeing has ended our "thing", and i have also realised that even though It was me that ended it, I'm still not over my other ex.

I'v got to faff about sorting out my paperwork for the army, which is a money issue beceause i need my A-level certificates, and I need to prepare a little more, but just havnt got the time.

My training has taken a nose-dive this week because the tablets have taken the fire from out my belly, i just cant be arsed!

I'm ****ed off because a mate of mine came back from 6 weeks in canada the other day and didnt bother to get in touch before he naffed off down south.

Being single means I havent had sex since july :( which is *****!!!

The cats are out to kill me, im convinced of it.

Hmm, think thats it atm!!!

Anyone think its just the tablets??

I've just spent all day building a new server (big box= 4 way Quad core Xeon, 2 TB of storage, 128GB of Ram, windows 2003 Enterprise, SQL2008 etc etc etc) to a different spec than I had originally designed. I was overuled on the design.

How annoyed do you think I am then that "we've" now decided to go back to the original spec... and I have to rebuild the damn thing AGAIN!

ABOUT TO EXPLODE!

Credit card issuer has cut my limit to £300!

I've not caused any problems and, OK, the limit covers my normal spending, but I'll be using another card for any larger one-off purchases -- unless that one gets cut to 15 bob.

I always thought of the limit being a useful means of funding an escape, and I s'pose peeps are now doing that for real.

To top it all I couldn't remember my card PIN at the Post Office, which is only open 2-1/2 days a week.

Rural bliss, eh?
