After seeing "another" band thread
We can't let that go unchallenged,
can we guys? I know there are a lot of fans here
If carlsberg made bands.......
(Or should that be if bands made beer ? ;) )

Post your favourite tracks in here
I'll open with this.

next on my list would be dogs of war

In fact I'll jump in with Pt 1,2 & 3

Animals, Dark side of the moon best albums ever.

Pink floyd?........rather wash my eyes out with Happy Shopper bleach and dri.........hang on, I seem to remember a fortnight in Amsterdam where I thought they were brilliant, I think, memory is somewhat hazy, dunno why...................... :$

As a massive Syd fan it has to be Bike. Piper is a great album but shine on you crazy diamond is awesome.

Tending to agree with the self-indulgent dirge comment from the other thread with the exception that I do think Another Brick is a contender for the best "christmas" number 1 ever. And I do like one of these days as well. Particularly love the extro on another Brick, its far too short though. Oh yeah and Money.

Several Species of..... With a Pict or Grantchester Meadows for me. Sends the cat batty too!

Far too many great tracks to choose a favourite but...

Shine on You Crazy Diamond about Syd Barrett

or

Run like Hell if you want something to drive to.

Are my main contenders for the title.

Seamus the Dog does that to our cat.

Best track? An impossible choice. I still like the stuff from saucer Full of Secrets..Astronomy Domine etc. Yes, I'm old enough to remember that stuff first time round!

Oh oh oh I how could I have forgotten the worlds sexiest backing singers.

Claire Torrey. Superb. She only got paid a flat fee as a session singer. Something stupid like £100 or so.

Hi Chris! I have to admit that as a fan of progressive rock, Pink Floyd has never really gelled on me, I'm not sure why not - but there is one particular track I do like.

It's a shame that it's way too short, probably where I'm used to listening to epic hour-long sets by Klaus Schultz and Tangerine Dream.

No ones perfect Ian :D But that a good call :)

Cracking stuff guys
I think that this was actually the track that got me interested in them in the first place.
And like a lot of other of their tracks, has been used as a backing track for
a myriad of programmes over the years.

Pink Floyd are my number one band, I think, or is it The Clash. Na, Pink Floyd. Oh wait, The Clash, agghhhh. Ok, It's Floyd. Seen them at Knebworth, Earls Court and went to Roger Waters The Wall a few years ago.

For me there are to many great songs.

Here's one for now.

I have a fair bit of PF on my iPods including DSotM and Pulse. Special treat today - on shuffle I got Money twice - studio on the way out and live on the way home! In fact, it was just finishing as I pulled into the drive so I hit the back button so I get it again next time I go out.

in hugh's clip #19 .wasnt clare torry singing

Floyd the tripping man's Coldplay
Thats a bit of a sweeping statement, I'd say more like the thinking man's TBH,
Although I'm not even sure I'd compared cold play to Floyd anyway.
Pink Floyd 1965
Cold play 1996
So I wonder if cold play like so many other bands, will slip into obscurity well before they get close to
their 50th year.
And whether or not they will change their name for a fourth time ;)
Or whether it really was 3rd time lucky for them?

I thought it was Sam Brown, ( Joe Browns daughter)
but I stand to be corrected?

rachel fury
Its me age ya' know :D
I'm getting confused Sam did the "backing" for "great gig"
on the division bell tour.

She did, she toured with PF for one or two years after Rachel Fury left, did a good job on the vocals but Rachel is still the best I think, all kudos to Clare Torry for setting the bar high.

Fairy nuff, I just remember Sam Brown TBH.

I remember thinking when I first saw Sam Brown "but she's just a lightweight pop star? she can't..." but she could :D

OK so I had to go google all 3 versions,
Gotta admit the Sam brown is not quite as powerful as the other two,
but they all bring their own "Something"
