A few of you of a certain age may remember a photographic retailer called Photopia, well tucked in a box with a load of other stuff I found the Photopian Dictionay

Photopia Front by Raglansurf, on Flickr

It's the sort of thing that would have been tucked inside your copy of Amateur Photographer.

It's basically a way of promoting their products but it has a fantastic 1960's and 70's tone to it.

For example does anybody know the definition of the words helfative (adj), lood (noun) and uttendable (adj)?

Helfative (def): A health food additive used to reduce the fat absorption of tubby photographers living in the South Eastern Counties.

Almost right

helfative (adj), is helpful and informative
lood (noun) is a lens hood
and uttendable (adj) is obviously Utterly dependable, a term applicable to all Photopia equipment (their words. not mine)

So how about ulticase (noun), infinable (adj) and loncus (adj)?

I think I know loncus. Is it a trough of crème anglais?

A peli case - the ultimate case for your camera
Part of the subject view which will be in focus if the lens is set to infinity
Focusing with a big telephoto lens (from long focus)

Or, in other words, I've no idea :D
