We leave tomorrow after spending Christmas here, this is our first ever visit and have been so impressed with what the area has to offer we had a scout around for next years accommodation and booked it on the spot, we are staying near to Bakewell at present and have booked accommodation nearer Buxton.

We have travelled all over the country and just never thought of this area before.

We arrived here by chance as it was a late booking just to get away from it all at Christmas, will be taking in it's full beauty next summer:thumbs:

I love the Peak District and am a very regular visitor as I'm only an hour's drive from where I live. I don't know if you've seen these websites, but these will give you plenty of information:

Thanks Carl, those are excellent links:thumbs: duly bookmarked.

And you will enjoy it! Can't get enough of the place.

After looking at the above links I am sure we will, on account of the weather it was tricky getting there, we did not get out much, in case we had problems getting back, hardly got the gear out. We did visit Buxton, beautiful town but it was a very slippery visit on foot and we had to give our two cavaliers a warm bath when we got back as they were filthy and cold.

Done plenty of cycling and walking in the peaks over the years, its a beautiful part of the country. Buxton seems to be in a world of its own, the weather can get pretty bad.

No worse than the week we had in Skye this year :D
