I wasn't paying much attention, but at the end of tonight One Show they said something about sending in photos of, I think, wildlife for them to show on the show tomorrow (again, I think).

It isn't on the iplayer yet, but when it is it might be worth taking a look, for anyone who has some tasty wildlife snaps and wants a bit 15 seconds of "fame" :p

I think it was to take pics of 'letting sleeping dogs lie', so you have to take a picture of a dog sleeping. Its worth watching again as they had a really good section on taking pictures of bats which looked very interesting and rewarding.

Apparently they are doing a different theme every night. The bat shots were great:thumbs:
 
bat shots were excellent, didn't know about needing a licence though.
 
You will be committing a criminal offence if you:
1.Deliberately* capture, injure or kill a bat
2.Intentionally or recklessly disturb a bat in its roost or deliberately disturb a group of bats
3.Damage or destroy a bat roosting place (even if bats are not occupying the roost at the time)
4.Possess or advertise/sell/exchange a bat (dead or alive) or any part of a bat
5.Intentionally or recklessly obstruct access to a bat roost

Penalties on conviction - the maximum fine is £5,000 per incident or per bat (some roosts contain several hundred bats), up to six months in prison, and forfeiture of items used to commit the offence, eg vehicles, plant, machinery.

the bat photographs were amazing. does anyone know how i can send a picture into the one show for the "let sleeping dogs lie" category. i can't seem to find anything on the website.

I agree, the bat shots where very impressive so then they ask us to take a picture of a sleeping dog :shrug:

It's the one show...you don't expect logic do you?
 
Hopefully it'll get a little more interesting as the week goes on.
Personally I don't have a dog here, I'm not rushing out to find a sleeping one either. They show a lot of peoples snapshots on the oneshow so it'll be interesting to see what makes it on the programme tomorrow night.
 
My guess is that it'll be more the 'stupid' image than the quality photo.

They're talking about Bee's eyes...
 
Again completely disconnected from the feature, which I think was about infra red photography?
