MO . Bolt can run fast over a VERY short distance Mo can just run fast.

I suspect Bolt would get beat at 800m by most top 800m club runners, and possibly even at 400.

It's a medal, Jim......

.

yeah this - bolt , like all top sprinters is too heavy for long distance, never mind Mo , I suspect that I could probably out run bolt over a long distance course

Nearly finished counting, down to my last 3 farthings.

What an Olympics, surpassed all expectations, I remember the pits of the single British gold from the 1996 Olympics, to this wonderful occasion, I feel so privileged to witness these last couple of weeks, from the Opening ceremony and I can't wait to watch the closing ceremony.

I'm so proud not just to belong to Yorkshire, but proud to be British also :):)

OMG! I was there last night!!! I saw the mighty Mo, the Beast and the Lightening Bolt!
I was almost (well, I actually was... but not wanting to admit it!) crying with excitement, and when the Bolt crossed the line, I practically peed myself with excitement!!! (well, I'm a lady of a certain age)

Probably the most incredible thing I've ever seen, it made me so proud to be British! :)

and, I can't even begin to tell you how fantastic ALL the volunteers were... well done UK!!!!

Have to say that I was skeptical ... all that sport ... all that money ... all that hype - I have been pleasantly surprised, though I have by no means watched it all. Cycling was a bit special.

And he's from my home town.

Watford will probably fight Finchley for his gold postbox though  Hope Finchley win, means I can say we have one in our borough ;)

Getting really excited about the closing ceremony now, looks like its going to be a brilliant evening. I did write a little blog post about the last 2 weeks earlier, welcome to read it but don't expect anything particularly erudite.

Now then, lets get this party started! :woot:

Thanks Pete, will be heading over to AP again in just over an hour, dunno if the fireworks will be as dramatic, but there will be loads of people up there again and a great atmosphere. *remembers to hit record on the Sky Box now, so I can watch the bits I miss*

Gold for women's shot-put has gone to a New Zealander following the Belarusian caught doping. I suppose now it won't be so frowned upon to share that when she was on tele I was utterly clueless of her gender until following athletes made it clear I was watching the women's event
