i now officially hate pay pal i have over £190.00 in my account and cant use it as when it come to do the phone number verifacation thing i edited the number and the i would save then it would not ring so after the 3rd attempt it said we will send you a letter with a number in 2 bloddy weeks for a number which still not turned up this was the 4 december i rang them tonight and said i had to fa them a copy of a bank statment errrr hello i have just confirmed a credit card and a bank account to them but they would not shift i am not told i have to wait for another department to contact me to sort this mess out i have a second account that has the same details on but this does not matter all i can say is pay pal is run full of idiots
sorry guys just venting some frustration out as i want to add some more camera eqipment to my bag and its holding me back :bang:

how long till another company takes over from paypal with people falling over each other to leave

Anyone else would have to get the backing of eBay and to be honest? That's not going to happen.

I've used ebay and paypal for over four years (quite regularly) and have never had any problem at all with paypal. Had a few problems with ebay members but thats the members being a problem not ebay itself.
 
i joined the long line of ex paypal users last year when they claimed i owed them 90 quid that was supposed to have been collected from my account but apparently wasnt, so when i said i refuse to pay the 90 quid until i receive a detailed breakdown of what its for they sent a credit collection agency after me hence black listing my credit rating, all because they couldn't be arsed to send me a detailed break down of why i was being asked to pay this money so for that reason i refuse to use paypal now, i now specifically look for postal order or cheque type auctions on ebay on the rare occasion i use them, i swear paypal is run by a bunch of monkeys
 
another ex paypal user bank transfer all the way... safe quick and easy bank deposits even better :thumbs:

i sent two items in two differant boxes and the guy says he didnt get either so paypal sided with him even though i showed them proof off postage, has to this date my account is overdrawn and i refuse to clear it...

cant see why everyone gone to paypal and stopped doing BT. when if you sent a cheque to them the same details are on that.
 
The biggest problem with PayPal is they are not regulated under the same banking laws as say, Barclays. This allows them to run the business however they want. If high street banks acted the same as PayPal, the banking Ombudsmen would drag them over the coals.:thumbsdown:
 
i left pay pal and e bay after getting ripped off by some chinese over faulty heli parts neither would help

Exactly the same experience I received, took me 3 letters ! from Paypal, before I stopped using my account. I will never use them again. Paypal are utterly hopeless.
 
That sucks that Paypal are being extremely unhelpful. I have to say that I have been using them for about 4 years and have never experienced any problems at all :shrug:
 
just spoke to them again to arrange away around the fax machine problem i am going to send a photo of my gas statement they said they will put a extra part on the resolution centre for me to upload to which will take up to 72 hours and then there is no guaranteed time to when the rest will get sorted out arrrrrrrrrgh i have £200.00 i need to spend lol

even better still i have another account that has the exact same details baring the bank account on it but they wont check in to it why not same details im asking for so what the hell

biggest bunch of monkeys on the planet

I've had problems where money has just been locked and frozen for some reason. I sold a lens here a while ago, and Paypal just locked my account, and I kept having to change my password and re-enter all my security details, which then put it under "review". Went on for days. Took about 13 days before I could withdraw the money.

The worse thing is if you try to e-mail them proof of something...ie a document or JPG they then say they can't open attachments!!!

5.Click the "secure form" link in the answer.
6.Click "Personal Name Change (marriage, divorce, legal)" and click "Continue".

Please be advised that I am not suggesting that you change your name and this is simply a quicker and easier way to attach documents to your account.
 
they have now put the upload file thing in place and accepted the file and my account is back to normal at last what a a**e it was to get it done took me most of today to get sorted was suprised how quick they were to sort it must of been all arguing i gave them lol stil hate them

and when i did summit something i got a e mail saying that they cannont accept the photo due to the name not been in full it still had mr and mrs a lockwood that is insane it still got my name adress on it

Simply because if you use eBay to sell almost anything (I think cars and the like are the only exception) you have to accept payments by PayPal.
 
weve done an awfull lot with ebay just lately.
havent had too much trouble with paypal, but do resent their bloody extortionate charges.
were seriously looking at alternative auction sites.
the fact that all sales will soon have to be paypal WILL put people off.
i hope it hits ebay in the pocket.
greedy basts.

I bought a £400 lens, when it arrived it was damaged, the seller was a sailor which I didn't know, when I didn't get a reply in 24 hours I initiated a claim, he replied within 3 days, apologised and refunded my postage but paypal had taken the money from his account so he couldn't give me it back, I posted the lens back but it took them over 2 months to refund the money to my account.

Nice little interest earner if they've got millions of pounds on deposit at any one time
