Nod - assuming you used in-camera JPEG - what sharpness settings did you use ?
0 on the 20 and 10, STD on the XF. And yes, the originals were all Large, Fine JPEGs in 3:2 aspect ratio. Not sure if the gallery keeps EXIF intact but I didn't strip it myself!
Can't wait for my x20 to arrive next week.. Hopefully it's going to rekindle my interest in photography since selling the 5dmk2.
Although I've just read lr3 doesn't support the raw files![]()
Good stuff. I've got a wanted ad for a cheap copy of LR 4 or 5 but I might just stump up the 57 quid for an upgrade to 5 after Xmas (or just ask for it for Xmas..)The free Adobe DNG converter does then you can work in anything (as does the supplied silverpix if you can put up with its oddities)
You can also view the RAF file directly in Irfan View. which is great for preselecting.
OK, got all 3 baby Xs here ATM so took a few snaps, one from each camera, all at or around 28mm and approximately the same framing, all with onboard flash. Results, SOOC (bar resizing and cropping), HERE. Not 100% certain they're all at exactly the same settings - it's been a looooong day!
That's interesting! I see a slightly more yellow colour in both the X20 AND the XF-1 than the X10... which defies all common sense since the X10 and XF-1 share the same sensor!

I am thinking about buying an X10. My compact experience so far has been limited to the Lumix LX7. Will I lose out from jumping over to the X10?

HDR does seem to split opinions, and it's definitely down to personal taste. This one was an experiment with Snapseed using a single JPG, and is overcooked when compared some of the others I've done using Luminance and 3 exposures. I could probably make it a little more natural looking with a few (less) tweaks, but I was impressed by the free Snapseed filter which makes an otherwise flat and uninspiring image "pop".
Really like that last image Farmerjim, nice composition and works brilliantly in B&W.
thanks i'll take a look. not overly keep on the [faux] leather either, it scratches easily in the bag.Good morning Neil,
There are many cases with and without access to battery/card slot, cheapish and not so cheap.
The question was first asked in the old X10 thread start looking from about page 28 on.

Rhodese.
Lynne, I shoot JPEGs on my X-20 and print SOOC at A3. Looks fine at normal viewing distance. I also have some 24" wide panoramas printed and on the walls.
I've had larger than a3 out of 20d and 1dmk3 (8 and 10 mp respectively)
The fuji has the lead ( probably) but wondering what 12pm is like for printing at say A3 or poster size if shooting RAW ?
Yup - it'll do you proud. Thanks guy's......think that maybe the decision made![]()
Hi, I've made A3+ size prints from RAW shots taken on my X20 and quality wise they are very good indeed and would comfortably stand printing larger.
Hope this helps.,
George.
