The Official Fuji X10/X20/X30/XF1/XQ1 Thread

My ex just had the xf1 I got her fixed, by Fuji in Colombia (as that's where she lives) all within warranty and dealt with well. If it was here I could have took it back to Currys and job done, except I got her the hard to find yellow model. They replaced the sensor apparently.
Glad you got yours sorted, long forgotten about my faulty XF1. I'm happily pottering about with my X10 and Panasonic TZ for the moment. Got my eye on a Canon Compact next, possibly. Or if I'm really potty, I just may get myself a Nikon Dslr. For some strange reason, I am getting a craving for another Dslr body.

Visited relatives this morning, and tried to get photos of a two year old dashing about. Just far too light, even tried putting my sunglasses in front of the lens. I gave up in the end.

Might try and get hold of a piece of polarised glass, and simply hold it over lens of my X10.

Nothing special, just messing about with the dog, oh and the X10. Just happy that the Fuji X10 is still going strong :)

At the moment I have an Olympus Ep1 and although its a good camera I hate not having a viewfinder and the macro (on current lens) is rubbish. Plus after owning a LOT of other fuji cameras I have always fancied one of the X10 or X20's

I am fairly set on the X20 - does anyone know where I can buy one at a decent price ( Less than £200 ) - Have seen many go for less than £200 on the forum (when I was not looking for one) but they seem hard to find and any I do find are like £270 etc or more

A few pop up on eBay at around the price you're after but I guess you probably know that anyway. It's probably your best bet to be honest. I picked up a mint condition X10 on eBay last December for £180, but there seems to be a lot of demand for these lovely little cameras and second-hand values remain pretty solid for good examples.

Thanks - There was an X10 for £110 buy it now - and I was thinking about it but someone put a bid of £60 on it so now its on the 6 day auction

I which they would not remove the buy it now (unless did price goes over) on ebay.

Well, we could always use them as a type of camera coffin/shroud :D
That's what I was thinking lol. I did take the XF1 out the other day, and tried it on the 35mm but found it a bit limiting. Can't go over 35mm, as we all known what happens

I suppose the only time I might use mine now, is for indoor stuff at the wide angle.

My XF1 wearing a nice green skin is still going strong but it has been "fixed" by Fuji under warranty so hopefully there will be no more issues.

I am treating my XF1 as a fixed wide angle lens, just I keep forgetting its now a fixed lens :)

Oops spoke too soon.

Thought I would take my XF1 out for an airing, just a very quick airing it was ...

OK I have bought an X20 off the forum - so looking forward to it arriving and having a play

I saw somewhere someone had some kind of large soft touch shutter button on their X20 - Are these any good and if so which one to buy ?

Some nice tones in that shot Nick, good shadow & highlight detail.(y)

George.

Thanks, George. They are great little cameras when they are working!

I know I'm going to regret saying this Nick, but my wife has one that's still working perfectly.:)

A couple of shots with the X30 from my latest adventure earlier tonight.
This is the Bone Hole in Cheddar Gorge, and we were privileged to be taken to a newly discovered part of the cave.

12m ladder in West Rift - the X30 only managed to get about half of it, there were two people holding lights below the shot and a long long way still to go up.
This is a 1/2 second hand-held exposure and it is pin sharp - unbelievable!

This chamber was only discovered in Jan this year and the walls are coated with Moonmilk, a delicate crystal coating that isn't that common.

One day I'll get back there with the big camera and do this proper justice; this was really just a lightweight reccie trip for which the X30 proved perfect.

Amazing photos..... Really fascinating

Cheers
I've had a look at the survey and that ladder is 21m
Looks like the X30 captured WAY less than half of the ladder....

The top of the ladder is too tight to wear a rucksack, so the camera gear was dangled from my waist hanging just below my feet.
In fact I wasn't was able to wear the rucksack in the entire cave as most of it is a tight squirm through boulder chokes.
Even walking back to the car I had to carry the bag as my suit and bag were so covered in mud the bag wouldn't go over my shoulders.
The X30 is a tough little beast :)

Had the X10 for ages, only just discovered the 200 fps video mode. Pretty good at slow motion video..

I really like that shot Alan, great detail and the lighting has been very well controlled.(y)

Skimmed through the thread - didn't spot any XQ1 users. Considering replacing my LX5 with one since Panasonic hasn't got a clue what colour skin is. (Going to convert it to Infra Red) Any thoughts?
