Yep, also an option! I love GAS. You know whatever I buy will lead me onto an x-pro 2 or x100f anyway :D
 
I picked up mine recently for £250 - virtually unused 2015 model courtesy of Ed. Very pleased with it but the OVF/EVF isn't clear so I need a new dioptre. I use specs for reading only and need +2.25 lenses - does anyone have a dioptre that they don't need for sale? My long sight is OK so I didn't think I would need to do this.

Might be worth checking with Robert White, apparently the Voigtlander dioptre they sell work for Fuji x, but not sure which cameras.

ETA: I believe the X-Pro1 as standard is set up as -1 so a +3 dioptre should take it to +2

Nikon do one that fits too, but gets even more confusing as I think they are set up so that a +2 diopter would take it to +3 actual.

One of the main reasons I don't buy a X-Pro1, why they didn't use an adjustable diopter beats me. Loads of the -ve versions about , but hardly ever see a +ve for sale at any value.

It's the other way around with Nikon - zero is -1 so what I need with a +2.25 requirement is + 1 or maybe + 2 this is where it gets confusing - you cannot try before you buy

Yes, I've looked at Robert White's website and is is possible to use Voightlander dioptres but no chance to find the correct one before you buy. However, I'm not sure you are right with the standard setup being -1. At £20 odd a throw, you don't want to make a mistake.

Think that means we agree, my prescription is the same as yours in my camera using eye. My daughter is an optometrist and she advised go lower to +2, all academic as I don't have the camera anyway :)
 
I'm in the same position - I can't currently use the OVF/EVF as it's too blurry so I went for a cheap Nikon diopter on ebay and am waiting for it to arrive. If it's not quite right I'll try the Voigtlander ones from RW.
 
Just a few lines on Dioptres - it may help others here.

My long vision is fine but I need +2.25 reading glases. I couldn't see clearly through the XP1 viewfinder - either OVF or EVF. There is a lot of confusion about these dioptres (I believe the original Fuji Xpro 1 viewfinder is rated as -1) but I ordered from Robert White a +2 and a +3 Voightlander dioptre. They both fitted perfectly and are exactly the same as the original Fuji (probably made by Fuji anyway) There is a difference in clarity between the OVF and the EVF and choosing the right dioptre is a compromise between the view through the OVF and the EVF. The +3 Voightlander dioptre was clear through the EVF but not quite clear through the OVF. The +2 dioptre was clear through the EVF and better through the OVF so I chose the +2. Possible the best option would be between +2 and +3 but hey ho, they don't make them. Anyway these Voightlander dioptres are just short of £20 plus postage. Robert White took my order yesterday pm and the goods were here this morning - good service - and they will accept the return of the unwanted dioptre for a refund.

My Nikon diopter from ebay arrived yesterday and fits fine. It was listed as being for the FM2 which takes the same diamter screw thread as the Fuji. I've yet to try it out in earnest and do the EVF/OVF comparison like this, but it's a definite improvement. It was cheaper than the Voigtlander ones although it's pot-luck on ebay!
 
My X-Pro 1 arrived :) It's a LOT lighter than I was expecting for some reason! I really like the OVF and the EVF seems fine as well (surprising given the technology gap between it and the X-T1). It doesn't even feel that slow.

Let's see if I still feel the same after a day's shooting :D

P.s. I see this as my street cam - currently paired with an 18/2.

Likewise - my 'new' XP1 feels better in my hand than my XT1 and with its new dioptre, is an absolute pleasure to use. As you say, it doesn't feel that slow either. I am very pleased with it and at current second hand prices it's a steal.

Clunky is all part of the charm! Get an xpro2 or an XT2 and the xt1 will seem clunky! The Xpro1 however will still have its magic so you'll hold on to it like many of us

First time out today with the X-Pro 1! That OVF is fabulous :D Took loads of frames and didn't miss focus once with the OVF, when shooting wide open with the XF 27.2,8 pancake, Some shots of the kids processed with the RNI Portra 160 LR preset:

I bought a minty Xpro1 largely because you guys on here were adamant that the Xpro1 rendered images differently to other later 16MP X series sensors. I like my XP1 - it maybe an old clunker but it reminds me of my old film cameras and I enjoy the clunkiness. But the rendition, well that is more difficult to quantify. So I have conducted a Q&D experiment. I have an XT1 and an XPro1 and I set them up identically (as near as poss) - I used my 10-24 lens on both and shot the scene from my window (all very technical!!) one after the other (hoping the light stayed constant). These are the results - SOOC with no PP other than cropping :-

First the XT1 (1/400 @ f5.6, ISO 400)

Then the XPro1 (1/240 @ f5.6 ISO 200)

Both cameras were focused on the long roof - there seems to be a slight difference in exposure between the two but hey ho, I did say it was a Q&D study

The XP1 rendition is definitely different from that of the XT1 - particularly the blue in the sky - the colours seem better. What's your view??

The colours *will* be affected by the exposure difference, so next time set the same ISO and use Manual mode to fix the exposure identically on both. I've done similar tests between my X-Pro1 and X-E2 and the differences are very subtle.

Yes - Unfortunately I did have the ISO set on auto but isn't 1/400 at ISO 400 more or less the same as 1/240 at ISO 200?

Not quite - 1/5 of a stop darker on the XPro1 is enough to darken the blue of the sky a little and drop the shadow detail back a bit.
