The Official Fuji X Pro 1 Thread

OK X-Pro1 shooter's;

Which is your favourite XF lens.........and why ?

Mine is the XF60mm, I stupidly sold it early this year, but now searching for one again. For my floral photography the XF60 produces amazing images and colour rendering.

I feel the 35mm is as its so sharp and versatile.

60mm macro here totally misunderstood and under rated lens , some of my best portraits ever have been taken with it

Sorry, Peter, I'm not selling it back to you!!!!!! As for my favourite XF lens that's difficult, as I liked all the ones I have owned, but if I had to pick one it would be XF23mm

How do you get o with the focusing with this lens?
If you are focusing from macro to infinity its slow but its rare that ever happens, I used mine for portraits and I thought it was stunning. It does get alot of negative comments its speed but at the end of the day its being bolted to an xpro 1 not a canon 1dx so its not a problem.

Here is a shot I took of my daughter totally naturally lit as she was just standing at the back door and I grabbed a snap .

Thanks!
I am on the lookout for one now !

"stumac";

The portrait of your daughter is simply STUNNING, love the clarity on the eyes, that would look brilliant professionally printed LARGE and hung proudly on a wall.

Awesome photographic work.
Thanks Peter, I have it printed on a nice fine art paper but only A4, I was especially impressed as it was pretty much a snap just to test the lens.

I love the fact you can get in so tight with this lens that most if not all other lenses will not allow unless you crop of course.

My new XP1 arrived today. Took a walk and the 'snaps' look great - Now, if only I can stop accidentally hitting the Q button!!

That image has probably just confirmed my les line up as being 18/35/60. Just georgeous!

The three original primes on the original X body.

The 3 of them are small, sharp. fast (enough for most things) and all come with metal hoods (although the 60 one is a bit of a monster) all the hoods fit the other 3 original prime lenses too!

And best of all? They're amongst the cheapest in the XF line up!

Good choice!

You won't...........

I havnt used mine in a while,but its a non seller had a big drop,still working great,but a couple of chicks in the body :(

I really need my xpro back, problem is there are no real deals used anymore.........why you ask? of course there is you say........ Because they are so damn cheap to buy new with the £499 deal , it makes no sense to buy used LOL but its £499 more than I have, I may have to say bye bye to a little x100t

Calumet Photographic (and probably others) have a 24 month interest free deal on as we speak, any purchase over £500, hope that helps Stuart.

;)
ohhhh what have you just done to me!!!!!!!! :)

@macvisual I thought you'd sold your 60mm, Peter ? Looking at some of the shots that you've reposted has caused me to spend this evening trawling for a good price :eek:

Yes Jim, I stupidly sold my XF60 within the past year, those XF60 images I posted above are taken from my 'flickr' photo-library. I'll be buying one again soon, the XF60 for the money is simply terrific value.....!!

I've been thinking long and hard about which lens to buy.I recently sold all my Canon FF gear and L glass to concentrate solely on the Fuji X system, so far I've been well pleased with the results. On Christmas day I had the family here for dinner, I was looking forward to getting some good shots of the grandkids, 4 months and 16 months. To be honest I was disappointed with the results, I used the 35mm on my XT1 and I only managed to nail focus on about 30% of shots. The 16 month can't keep still lol I know I would have had a lot more keepers with my Canon 5D3.
I really want a nice portrait lens, but I'm veering towards the 56mm solely for focus speed. The output from both lenses appears to be very similar, but the 60mm is infamously slow to focus. But the 56mm is twice the price. My fear is I'll buy a 60mm, be disappointed and sell it on for the 56mm and lose money in the process, decisions, decisions !

How about a 50% crop of a bird in flight shot through double glazing with the 60mm & X-Pro1, no problems with focus speed at all.(focus was on the bird landing)

Yeah I'm leaning towards the 56mm, some of the shots posted here from the 60mm have been stunning, but it seems my technique is lacking, so I think the faster focusing lens pips it for me. Where did you see them for "not big money" ? Digital rev have them on sale at £519
