The Official Fuji X Pro 1 Thread

Well due to some financial commitments I may have to sell up. :(

Trouble is, there are so many deals out there with cash backs, codes, free this and free that, it is quite difficult to sell anything at the moment. I decided to keep my stuff rather than give it away. Is there anything else you could sell rather than lose your camera stuff?

That's very true. These deals kill your residuals.

I'll keep an eye on the classifieds ;)

That's what were looking at, in selling other things. My wife wants me to keep camera due to the boredom I suffer being home every day. It keeps me occupied and interests me learning the camera and photography in general.

We have a Keyton suite which cost £5.2k new and we have some interest in the suite. I have just sold my old tile cutter so every penny helps.

With the current deals on Fuji it is hard to sell. I wanted to purchase the 35 and 55-200 this week due to the £300.00 cash back, but that's not going to happen now unless I sell above Keyton. With the way I have worked things, selling the 18mm and free Billingham bag it was costing me approx £48.00 extra as a whole deal with having the 35 & 55-200 instead of 18mm and free lens, 60mm in my case. I had the 16-50 cheap, so I would have had a the range covered for my needs.

I see you pulled your listing, I have with the Macro as they are not worth selling with current prices. I have a lot of interest in the Macro on the bay, but I am holding out for what I need.

Same here, their were a couple of lens i thought of moving on but going to keep them :(

Its not going to get any better any time soon either, just hang onto them if you guys can. They should hold their value. Otherwise just go to Ebay.

Sorry to hear that Simon.

I'm afraid I agree with Twist, the market is saturated with BNIB lenses and bodies picked up in the Fuji deals. The only way to sell them is to take a hit on the RRP and pitch below the current deals and refurb offers. Just looking at the classifieds on this forum, there are a lot of unrealistic prices on Fuji kit where people are trying to turn around the "extras" picked up on deals. With Fuji USA now joining the deal frenzy and the pound strengthening against the dollar again today the opportunities for getting top price are evaporating even further. For example, I expect you'd have to be pitching the 60mm at around £270 or less to get a bite at the moment. Anything more than that isn't going to be seen as a bargain against either refurbished or the two-lens deal.

Thanks for the advice folks, it's certainly a wrong time to sell. I think I need some time with the circus to improve my juggling skills :)

Sorry to hear this @Swanseajack Hope you manage to juggle something and keep the kit. As a few have said already ,its a funny time to sell at the mo with the refurb offers.

My Kipon L39 adapter came today. Have just hooked up my Jupiter 8 and shot a couple of random shots around the house. So far so good! I was surprised how easy it all was.

Tempted to buy an M42 adapter now as there is all kinds of M42 stuff around as well

Dan could you send me the link for the kipon l39. Thanks

Patiently awaiting the 35mm to arrive and pondering further purchases. My next planned move was to get the 14mm and the 55-200 and claim back the £300. However I'm now thinking maybe the XC50-230 would be good enough for the times I use longer zoom. In which case buying an X-M1 would seem a worthwhile consideration? For £100 more than the cost of the 50-230 it would give me a spare body and a shorter zoom too.

Does anyone have experience of both the longer zooms?

Finally got to have a wander with my Xpro1, nearly three weeks after buying it - stupid rain! Really enjoyed using the camera. It's not going to replace the D7100 completely but it's nice to reduce the amount of weight being carted about. Use a wrist strap with the Fuji so I didn't even take a bag. Battery life is as unpredictable as the X10. Went from 2/3's charge to next to nothing to shut down in a very short time. Need to grab a cheapo spare I think. I think I'm going to really enjoy the Fuji - it's just fun to use and next to no trouble to carry around. Hopefully the freebie lens will be here soon.

Stunning shot! Where abouts is that?

Looks like it could be Attingham Park, although I might be wrong, I haven't been there for a while !

Agreed though, it's a great shot. Lovely lighting, well captured.

That's what confused me. I couldn't remember a lake being there !!

Offer is extended to 31st March. Give me a shout if you want to try it "hands on"

And on another happy note, exactly 9 days from posting my claim the 35mm arrived this afternoon!:)

Sorry to hear of your difficulties, Simon. Shame you're not in the market for a D800 body only since I'm extremely tempted to take advantage of the current offers on the X-Pro-1, using the D800 to fund the system.

On that point, what do owners of the system recommend in the way of lenses to supplement the 18mm kit lens? I'm not really into shallow DoF and am happy with decent zooms. I'm guessing that the D800 will realise about £1,500 or so as trade in and that the body & 18mm will be ~£900 or so.

If youre happy with zooms just go for the 18-55 and 55-200 and perhaps the 10-24 when it gets launched. If you keep the primes Id be sure to go for the 35mm 1.4 as a claim lens.

Probably best to wait for more experienced users opinions Nod, but the arrival of my 35mm a couple of hours ago has convinced me that my 5D MkII is going to have to find a new home. That's after only a couple of test shots in the living room.

It's really going to depend what you shoot most, if you use a 50mm a lot on full frame then the 35mm is a must have for the free lens. For portraits the 6omm macro is a good length and again can be claimed free. Either way you will have two good primes. And because of the free offers you really are best to keep the primes for the moment. the 18-55 and 55-200 are both rated so thats you covered for a large range. buying those two before the end of March would give £300 cash back. Then just wait for the 10-24 for really wide shots, or pick up a 14mm at that point when people sell them to buy the zoom.

EDIT: or in other words, what Twist said in far fewer words

Cant really go wrong with any of the XF lenses, just pick the focal length you like, they are all very good.

I've decided to sell my Nikon D800 and Zeiss 21mm f/2.8 lens and go for the X-Pro1 deal etc. With the spare cash I'll buy another wood-burning-stove.

Watch this space....

I'm going to fit alarms to the trees in my garden!

Theres a heck of a lot of people leaving their DSLRs for this little gem, Im (un)patiently waiting for the 56mm.

BEWARE: Buying Fuji gear is addictive. I wanted to downsize and Ive exceeded my FF setup cost now  :$

I'm trying to limit my budget to what I'll raise from the DSLR kit. But I also need to source an X100S now as I've sold the X100.

I bought a x100s black and also ended up with a x100 LE, not sure why I need 3 Fujis, like I said far to addictive buying these beautiful cameras and lenses!!

I presumed the X100 LE was for your friend, so you've kept that too! that's just greed, I'll take your X100S off you for £370 o_O

oh and while I'm in the smilies WTF is this all about :canon::nikon::olympus:there seems to be something missing!!:ty:

I like the 18-55mm zoom a great little lens, and hopefully the new 16-55 F2.8 will be out soon :)

Have I missed something? Are you selling the X100S ? Surely you would want to swap it for a 55-200

It's a shame that we can't have a sub Fuji thread where we can list all the stuff we have and stuff that we would like to swap and what we are willing to swap it for. Perhaps an extension to our signatures? I wonder if that is allowed?

Very nice. Some fantastic shots on your Flickr site

Thanks for the advice. Think I'll probably go for the 18, 60 and maybe the 18-55 as a start then see how much credit I'll have left for the 55-200. The sales assistant I'm going to talk to about the deal is an X-Pro user (in professional use as well as amateur) so may be able to help too.

I'm not abandoning the SLRs, just after a lighter option that offers quality. I've enjoyed using an assortment of baby X Fujis (XF-1, X-10 and X-20) so have confidence in the company's products and their ability to turn out excellent files.
