Hi all!

Sorry if this has been asked before (I'm a noob in all aspects as well as the forum) - I'm currently looking to purchase lightroom 4 but have heard you can get a 1 month free trial from adobe. I just wanted to know if this trial is restrictive at all? If so, how? And once the full edition is purchased are you able to use it on more than one computer?

Any help appreciated! :)

I have the full version on my laptop and pc, so that works for sure.

I thought I read the full version is on offer somewhere too, so you might want to look into that and save some money.

I "think" you can use it on two computers but have a look at the licence details on the Adobe site

But if you purchase this on a CD, what stops it from being installed on many computers. I understand that maybe only one or two computers can have updates as and well.

Because it wont let you do it on more than two.

if you change computers then you have to deactivate it on your old one before reinstalling it on your new one.

Seems like a definite answer! Thanks!

During the installation process you need to enter an activation number. This is sent back to Adobe Central, who check if it's been used already and if so how many times. Depending on the answer the installation will either continue or stop.

Definite, but wrong.

There is no need to deactivate Lightroom, which is fortunate as there is no method of deactivation. LR differs from PS in that there is no tracking of the number of computers a single copy is installed on.

A quick search answered my question. You don't need to deactivate it. The limit of 2 computers isn't policed by the software. Just stop using it.

When I contacted adobe, they said u can use it on 2.

But they said it can't be at the same time.

Leading me to believe they must have a way if telling.

How would that be possible if both machines were running offline :/
