Not sure if this should be in this forum...

Is it just me that hates the new layout? My BIG gripe is with the mini tv 'feature' which I'm glad to say you can turn off, but you can't get rid of the sound too, unless I'm missing something. Generally I'm on the TV guide/planner whilst I'm sky+ing one or two programs, I don't want to either see or hear that program when recording it :cuckoo:

Is it just me

Can I somehow either get the old GUI back or get the dodgy music back when on the tv guide/planner?

are you on about the dark blue one?

its utter crap! its SOOOO slow!!

I guess so. It updated itself a few days ago. I'm ok with everything really I haven't noticed it being slower tbh, its just this damn 'Freeview style' mini tv business with the sound I can't turn off. Give me back my dodgy music PLEASE!

Hmm, not sure what you're on about. I have Sky+HD and I don't see anything different from before, I certainly don't get any sound from the programs when I'm using the planner.

Really? For me the whole thing has changed and I hate it.

Maybe it's rolling out in phases or something?

Sky are updating the menu system.. personally I think its good, my wife hates it

SKY have slowly been rolling out the new menu's for about 6 months or so - and have had some problems with power supplies in the pace boxes not been up to the job

hence the slow roll out and lots of folks not yet seen the new menu system
if you check out skys website they have a short video tutorial that shows what its all about
my 2p

Yes... here's a link to what I hate http://www.sky.com/portal/site/skyc...6e5d286e2&articleId=5381410&contentid=5405610

How stupid is having to listen to the tv program you are recording, or even watch it on a PIP whilst on the planner? Crazy

Good thing is when you have it you can program Sky in to receive ITV HD :D

I think it's excellent, about bloody time you could carry on watching/listening to a program whilst flicking through the planner for other stuff. No more having to click the info button for program descriptions, and no more of that god awful ear bleeding muzak!

Well Done Sky, you finally got something right :D

ive just signed up for HD today, free box offer..win

Actually, yes mine is slow... I'd been to hung up on the mini tv 'feature' to really notice, but yes it pauses bfore doing what you've clicked.

I think it all depends how you use Sky+

We watch 99% from recorded, so seeing/hearing anything live is often a problem. I'm happy for it to be there, and to be able to turn it off (which I have) but you'd think it would turn off the sound also!

Matty - Nice one  That's what we did, waited for a good offer. I love HD (as long as your TV is 37"+ it's amazing)

ive got a 40" 1080p LCD TV, i did have a plasma but that had issues so dixons took it away and gave me this instead. Just need to decide on Onkyo or Sony 7.1 surround sound setup now..

Mine updated to this planner about 5 -6 months ago. I agree it is slow, press the button and them wait to see if it moves.

I guess anyone who has bought it recently gets this planner anyway.

What are you on about...

I went Denon AVR-1909 and KEF KHT2005.3 as a 'special offer' from a local hi-fi shop for my father. The Onkyo is nice

I got the new planner on Friday but haven't had a chance to scrutinise it properly as yet.
What I don't like is the fact that theres only 6 channels showing and you have to scroll down again and again.
What I have always missed from my original Sky (before Sky digital) is the button you pressed to take you to the previous channel viewed.

And another thing.
With my original sky box then sky+, I could watch and change channels on the portable in the bedroom by using a linksys sensor that plugged into the outside arial and then into the TV but with Sky+ HD no such luck.

Sony never could make decent speakers, go with the Onkyo.

Still waiting for my HD box to update. they've only been promising it since April.
Also can't wait to get rid of the elevator music

i have an original spec thomson with the component out connections , the new guide works fine on that , far better than the old one in my opinion , and if anyone asks about rolling back to the old one , you cant , simple as that :)

speakers i have, the receiver would be sony...

i thougth there was a huge waiting list for HD, but i got offered installation for thursday this week! put it in for the 14th though as i have to do some stuff this week..
