The new Sigma 120-300 is it due out?

Just been looking on the WEX website, Sigma 120-300 f2.8 available for pre order @ £3499, thought it might go up on the current model but not twice as much.
 
Just checked sigma site, and will be in UK for February. Is the price likely to drop any?..
 
Ouch... £3599 when I just looked! That's the same as the USD price.

I won't be getting shot of my 300mm f/2.8 L IS in any kind of hurry! :shake:
 
I was considering saving the extra for one of these but an over 50% hike in RRP put me off. Even if its got faster AF and better build its to close to a used Nikon price.

So instead I'll save some money and just get a Nikon f4.
 
Looks like I shall be keeping my existing 120-300 f2.8 as well then. For that sort of money I would expect it to go out and take stunning shots and then bring them back home to me whilst I sit watching TV. :D
 
You an pick up a used 300mm prime for that kind on cash, and archive super sharp results

That's me definitely out of getting one. Think I'll save a little longer and either go for a new Canon 300, or better still have a good holiday. Lol
 
Clifton Cameras are excellent but generally at the top end of the pricing scale.

Cheers Gramps, on this Sigma well under Wex prices.
 
I've used them once or twice for some Think Tank stuff. No problems with service. Price at the time was the best I could find in the UK.

Bought a Sigma 70-200, a tripod and couple bags from Clifton Cameras and have never had anything but good things to say about them, not sure if they still do it but they used to be able to price match Sigma lenses.
 
give it a few months, wait for a few damning reviews and wait for the price to tumble down

while we are at it, somebody needs to say just how 'bad' some of Canon and Zeiss lenses really are :nuts: so I can afford it
