nice to see proper pricing structures again

Hmm I was in my local store a couple of weeks back and didn't notice any big difference, any change in layout or stocks?

Homebase is a brand I never use- because of their prices and quality.

I have an open mind so I can be swayed.

In the past a good rule of thumb was half the quality and triple the price...

I've been in in the last week.
The only thing I noticed was they're harping on about always low prices rather than their previous constantly changing prices.
No rebranding, and their own brand power tools were still the same.

I haven't been in my local branch for some time. I'll check it out.

What I really want to know though, did the dog like his haircut?

:)

The take over company's name is Bunnings. It's Ausies answer to B&Q, we love shopping there when we visit my son in Oz. It's packed to the rafters with goods at great prices.

Really? Aren't homebase part of the group that also own argos?

Think they were, but Bunnings took over Homebase and I think Sainsbury's were / are chasing Argos...

So will my local Homebase now remove the satellite Argos that they installed a very short time ago? :D

I think Sainsburys got it, because the company I work for withdrew their bid at the last minute. They ended up buying Poundland of all places.

Ooh. Might have a look in one then. Will have to see whether they have cheap gravel :)

As I said it was a first time visits since

it was under sainsburys rule ,the store I visited had loads of special offers all designated by just large cardboard signs and stacked on aisle ends and also in the aisles themselves ,I should think that once the old home base stock is cleared out more new stuff will follow ,a few items I did notice was a double bench grinder for £9.99 a 12 volt drill driver for £13.00 a mains jigsaw for £ 13.49 ,the wife got some new large settee cushions really nice for £3.50 each .

Was just wondering same thing as our local (ish) one has an Argos in it - our local one closed last year, which was a real shame....

Ours is like that at the moment, you can't get moved for those "tacky" looking boxes obstructing the aisles.

I can put up with tacky looking aisle displays for good products at the right price .
