Yes
Seeing as it has the whole 'fighter jet' look for about it, it's no surprise this one tried to take off in London yesterday.

Not usually one for posting videos like this, but no one got hurt.

This guy is as cool as a cucumber afterwards though despite the onlooking crowds. Not going to make a guess whose fault it was as we can't see the moments leading up to it.

Anyway it'll probably buff out...

The sound sounds all wrong - sounds like the Lambo is going faster than it looks and the crash sounds like a load of saucepans being dropped than CF on steel! LOOKS like the little Mazda (?) pulled out on the stealth car and he had nowhere to go. Chances are his Dad's got another one for him to play in anyway...

I watched it with the sound off, it 'looks' like the Lambo was going way too fast, I'm ashamed to say I thought oh look! typical blond bimbo driver...oops it's left hand drive!

Soon as I saw the blonde lady get out I thought: "The YouTube commentators are going to have a field day!" But yes, it turned out to be a bloke trying to show off to the blonde girl!

I think it's legit? Sound sounds accurate enough (in terms of car placement to noise) when it plays in slow motion. But yes, invariably, if you can afford to have a Lamborghini, you can afford to crash a Lamborghini.

I'd love to know the insurance prices around this. How much was insurance originally for a sub 30 year old on a £300k car, and how much is it going to go up by now

The weirdest thing is why anyone would "just happen" to be filming a street where nothing seems to be going on when suddenly, from nowhere comes a Lamborghini (possibly going a bit too fast) and a Mazda (not looking properly - good job it wasn't a bike coming along...) right in front of the cameraman. Last time we were up in the smoke, we deliberately walked through Knightsbridge to laugh at the Lambos, all of which seemed incapable of being in an appropriate gear for the speed - first seemed to be as high as the drivers could get! I know that the cars are capable of silly in first but I also know that they sound like they're going a lot faster than they actually are, having followed a fair few Italian super/hyper cars through town while behind busses. Most of them sound like a bucket of bolts being shaken!

Car hunting in London is a pretty big thing. Armies of spotters with cameras chase cars around the streets, especially in places like Knightsbridge. With the traffic the way it is, you can often follow a car on foot for quite a while from junction to junction. Especially with the one way systems it's possible to predict where it will be, and then wait ahead to film it going past.

While I personally don't see the interest in chasing super-cars, I guess it's another hobby. Similar to people go spotting for various wildlife (something that does interest me).

Have a look at this search term 'car spotting in London' too see how prevalent it really is: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=car spotting in london

People like Schmee150 get "Youtube Famous" (translates to not actually famous) from it.

TBH, I have no idea where in London the video was shot, only guessing that it's not that central since there are parked cars and no apparent yellow/red lines.

When we've been following the cars, I mean we were in the car behind them, not that we were stalking them! Personally, I'd rather be in either of ours than an exotic.

I've sent the link to my boss.
He takes delivery of his Aventador on June 1st

It's Sloane Street, Knightsbridge - we walked you past the top end of it last summer; Harvey Nichols is on the corner ... runs down to Sloane Square and the Kings Road. When I left university, I nearly bought a flat there! Probably should have done! :tumbleweed:

You'd have been able to use the profit when selling it to buy your own supercar!

I hope he puts it to good use and gets some trackday action in rather than doing the above!

He'd probably have been able to use the profit to buy a fair few supercars unless you get into the Veyron territories.

Well, both ours are capable of twice the motorway speed limit and equally happy (and very comfortable) at normal speeds.

Jon's been there, done that and has some t-shirts!

:plusone: Hope he's keeping the comfy car as well, Ruth!

Why not a Veyron? And a couple of other big cars too! There's been ridiculous property inflation in some parts of London, that weren't cheap anyway. IIRC, with a graduate first job salary in 1980 I was offered a large studio flat near the bottom of Sloane Street for a just-about-mortgageable thirty something thousand pounds!

It'll have gone up what, fifty fold, sixty fold in those 33 years. Just looked on Zoopla and it looks north of one and a half mill!

I meant with your profit you could buy several supercars rather than just one. With the cost of a Veyron you could probably get a couple of 2nd hand ones.

He's too old to be allowed to drive a supercar!!! ;)

I'm just (apparently) too ill... Aerosoles!
