the 'my car is foreign, innit' thread

thats nothing to do with economics, and everything to do with them being a pile of toot.

Im still trying to scrub the smell of plastic out of my cloths from driving a corsa while waiting for my focus to be bought. the steering wheel was the same moulded plastic as everything else in the car. :puke:

then vauxhall start showing an advert with muppets driving...

The new (2006-on Corsas) are a joke, people think they are buying a small, economical car, but they are the same size and weight as the previous generation Astra, except now Vauxhall have stuck a 1.0 litre engine from Yamaha (yes, Tony, Yamaha ;)) in them.

I had to drive a 1.2 Design for a few weeks (£10k to you, sir ) and it was the slowest, most uneconomical car I've driven in a long, long time, god knows what the 1.0 must be like....

And when they do put a performance engine in them, it's too powerful for the fwd and it struggles to cope.

There's a lad who togs at Knockhill who has one of those VXR ones that's chipped to something like 225bhp :cuckoo::lol:

aah. radicals. suzuki engine.
i got two suzuki engines. a 1300 in a swift(car) , a 750 in a gsx(bike).
the bike engine is more powerfull.

At what RPM?

It will probably produce less torque as well. Put it in a proper car and it will be feeble and require constant rebuilding as they're not designed to tow the weight of a car. Even bike engined single seaters which weigh sub 400kg require much more maintenance than a 2 litre single seater.

Yamahahahahahahaha

The 1.0 12v is really responsive, takes off quicker than any of our bigger cars and any of my mates cars from London when we had them on private land when they came up here. The 1.0 12v is actully quicker than the 1.2 on the pull away and got more pull at top end, don't ask me why because i do not know, nor have i tried it i stick to the speed limits thank you very much.....

To be honest i don't want to be racing along, darting everywhere and putting my tyres under pressure and gearbox and clutch. It's pointless and i prefer to drive my car with respect, not like some of the Corsa B's i've seen driven around here.....:gag:

I agree, with the Corsa C there is little difference between a 1.0 and a 1.2 in terms of performance, with the D though you need a 1.4 at the very least

Probably something to do with the 1.0 engine being lighter, being as it's about the size of a small foodmixer (and after a while sounds like one too )

Nah, mine just sounds like a really really really annoying hairdryer. My engine actully looks quite big to me, it might be just because it is a small car
