The mpb sponsored competition with exciting prizes

To all who put in I wish us the best of luck, and enjoy taking your image for the thread.
I dare not enter, I'm so good that I'm bound to win,
and then people will cry "Fix"
And it'll all kick off again :D

On a more serious note I have given my self a two places to take some images here, Devils Dyke or the Brighton marina looking along the cliffs.
It`s been donkeys years since I`ve been to Devils Dyke. Do they still fly hang gliders there? Probably better than the marina imo

Definitely the better option then, mate (y)

Funny thing with me and landscapes as they are my pet hate, tried it for quite a while but gave up as I never really liked them. Strange really as I still have them all in my Google Photo's from my Canon 70D days.

Same hers, I`m crap at landscape. I was thinking more on shooting the hang gliders :)

The only one I still have on my first Flickr last page is of a paraglider off Devils Dyke, so I must like it to keep it.

Edit: Just looked and it was taken with the X-T2 + XF35mm f2.

I haven't posted in a while - but think it's great. Nice to have the offer of a prize available for doing what most of us already do - take photographs. If all goes to plan, I'll be in London next weekend, and will be shooting something fairly big, so if I don't get a decent shot out of the day I'll be very disappointed - so am quietly confident that I'll have a submission to submit. And I'll do so without getting all het up over some silly rules. Keep it simple and straightforward.

Sounds good to me. I’ll be having a go at this if I can decide on what to shoot.

I was out in a howling gale yesterday wit my camera on a monopod and needing both hands to keep it as steady as I could. Could I take the kit picture today?

I posted that quote as I don't think many have actually read the competiton rules.

**mpb have now updated the rules as of this morning**
(Same link)

FYI
We, the Admin team, after much discussion, reserve the right to thread ban any members that we consider are seeking to disrupt the competition, from now on. Don't say you weren't warned.

For the rest of you, its good to see the positive posts. again :)

Add an image of your equipment used at the time and on the day.

The quote above suggests that its taken at the same time, same location but it doesn't state specifically that it MUST be.

A quick question, when the winner(s) are emailed will it be staff and mods who pm us ?
No Idea, but I guess it will be mpb, as before its nowt to do with tp per se.

So who actually submits the pix to MPB then? I`m a little confused now ;)

MPB are reading both threads, ( that is why I get so disappointed in / at some of the posters :( ) they will use the images on the image thread to judge.

@ShinySideUp Martin, I read your deleted.
Yes they did reply in the form of the updated rules, which you may have missed?
Ahh but how will they get the said email addresses of the winners?
I assume they will announce the winners in one of the threads.
Then I suggest they will ask for the winners to contact them.
Obviously we can't pass the email address on, without the persons permission.
Or of course, as members, they may use the PM system here.
If you are worried about more privacy issues don't enter it that's simple.

Thanks, Chris (y)

I can totally understand your frustration too. Maybe time to get the "Big Stick" out ;)

I'm sharpening it as I type.

BTW Paul, that last comment wasn't aimed at you, it was just another opportunity to re-iterate, what I'm bored of saying.

I didn`t think it was, mate :)

3. The Competition is open to anyone aged 18 or over and resident in the United Kingdom (excluding Northern Ireland) only.
They'll certainly take business from N.Ireland though, typical.
