Thanks to Woodsy for sharing the link on FB :)

Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. I could sit and watch scenes like that for hours on end.

Makes me want to sit on top of a mountain, with nothing else around me but nature...

The timelapse video along with the piano makes this very relaxing!

Wow:eek: thats a lot work gone into making that , brilliant.

That is absolutely bloody epic. THe hairs on my neck were standing on end throughout that!

Fantastic , :) :) I also looked at his other stuff as well really amazing .

Isn't it just? The effect of the sandstorm at 32 seconds is just phenomenal...

If you've enjoyed that, you really should take a look at this.

It's well worth buying a copy.

Stunning. We've got a place in Tenerife, and I took the camera and kit properly last year for the 1st time. Am planning on taking a tripod this year and spending a night on Teide, watching that is making me look forward to it even more

Fantastic.

My wife's parents have a place in Tenerife (El Medano) which we use sometimes and I've been up El Teide a few times - amazing place.

The rolling clouds were just awesome!!! A silly question, but how is something like this done?

I've just watched all his videos. The shark in the Fiji video is awesome. Thanks for sharing that:thumbs:

Spectacular!
I'm pretty sure the music is by Ludivico Enaudi. But for the life of me I can't place the title!! :(

Joe

edit Oops I didn't read the the info on the page, it is and the the title is there too

Fantastic. Simply fantastic.

Well worth the shutter replacement needed at the end of the trip :D

Between 2:24 to 2:30 seconds, the background clouds are moving soo fast yet the camera moves to the right ever so slightly and very slowly. How is this done?

I take it time lapse photography is done by taking lots and lots of images and NOT video?

I've done some reading on it, never tried it, but do wander how they get that effect of the clouds moving quickly but camera panning to the right gradually slowly.

Can't get this to load for some reason - will try later. Blade_922 - you can usually do a panning effect in post, as HD resolution is much lower than the stills resolution on most cameras these days. There are also automated dolly type setups that just move very slowly (expensive!).

That timescapes site has a good overview/introduction to the whole thing. You can do it by speeding up video but I think most people use the stills approach.

Pretty sure that guy uses a dolly as he has them advertised. Basically he'll take one image from x spot, then move 1cm to right then another image then rinse and repeat. The dolly he advertises has like teeth as it goes accross so its exact distances apart so you get the wonderful flow.

Another way would be to take the image and say just show half on it in the video editor then again gradually move the image itself along.

To answer your second question it is indeed lots of images taken and then played as a video. Somewhat similar to stop motion animation. There's a rough set up video here which explains it a bit more.

Even got an impressive response from the wife. Not very many of my photos achieve that.

Outstanding, really loved the part above the clouds.

That is wonderfull.

Oh to just lay there, under the night time sky. With my good lady beside me.

Well back to the rat race.

Oh. My. God.

That was simply some of the most beautiful... Words aren't enough.

Thank you very much for sharing that!

Quite simply stunning. I could just watch that over and over. And the music playing is so soothing too. It made the hairs on the back of my neck rise.

Popped back to check out some of his other stuff - fantastic.
