RoyalMail, I had a book that was being delivered today by RM 24hr special delivery. This morning I get an email asking if I want the item redirected if I'm not going to be in, great I thought, I can do what I need to get done today and given the torrential rain it seemed a no-brainer to get it delivered to the post office around the corner so I took that option, I even got a confirmation email saying so. I got home and there on the doorstep and now completely soaked is the book, ruined. I rang their customer services ( after a 40 minute wait on hold, that's another moan) only to be told, basically 'tough luck'. Why bother asking in the first bloody place.

Two days ago I. saw three books at half price..£24 to £12..hardbacks ...and didn't want to lose the discount which would probably have gone by the time we get back to the UK in two weeks so, I had them sent to my neighbour. Two have arrived the other to arrive Friday.

A few days before we left home my wife got an RM text informing her that her parcel had been delivered. Sure enough, there it was on the doorstep. We'd been in all day. No-one had rung the doorbell nor knocked on the door. Same with another parcel ..ie text saying parcel delivered. It wasn't on the doorstep that time but had been thrown over the side-gate. It was material for my wife and,fortunately, in a plastic bag so it didn't get soaked in the rain.
