Yes
I've got it bad. Proud owner of a pristine 2007 17" Macbook Pro, 2.4ghz, faster hard-drive etc. It's covered by AppleCare until July next year. My head says spend 45 quid at Crucial and bump up the RAM to 4 gig, my disease says sell it, get the new unibody one, or a big f-off 24 inch iMac.

Any other sufferers out there?:bonk::thumbs:

It started with a macbook - expanded to a 24" iMac as well. The iMac is like being in a tanning booth. Still waiting for media exchange for CS4 to arrive to put it to amy pressure.

I think that I have the best combo - a laptop (I am away alot) and a nice PC. I upped the ram to 4Gb before switching it on for the first time so no real idea how it runs with 2.

If you don't really need it for travel, get the iMac - it's the best computer out there in terms of bang per buck. (In my humble, but honest opinion).

My wife bought a macbook............

then I bought a mac mini.......

then I bought a Mac pro......

then I bought an iBook......

then I bought my younger daughter a Macbook.........

then I bought my elder daughter a Macbook........

then I bought my youngest son an iBook........

then I sold my iBook and bought a 17" Macbook pro hi-res 2.5 penryn

then I gave the mac mini to my youngest son and sold his iBook

< we are here now ........ >

later in the week I get another macbook (a black one) from Wail

I want an old iMac (a very old blue one :))

Guilty as charged :)

Great to read that there are other sufferers out there!

If I do the sensible thing with the Macbook Pro & upgrade the RAM, I'll see if I can convince my better half that the family needs an iMac:woot:

I'm only on my first Macbook but I do love it so :D especially now I'm getting to grips with OSX and a lot of thanks go to Cowasaki's Mac Tips thread too.

Next up: 24" iMac

Wail had 2 of these?

Loving the one I bought off him - just loaded Leopard today and she's as smooth as butta. Great addition to my 24-inch iMac.

Yes, I'm Steve Jobs' whore and love it

And now we have the new Mac Pro to put into the mix..... Decisions Decisions

Wail opened the flood gates by buying such a nice spangley new laptop and now his family have all pounced on him for one as well :) I am having his daughter's one :) I will be doing a thread soon on Wail's request of how to install 7 operating systems on one computer !! (Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard {this will temporarily be a 2nd leopard install}, XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Linux ---- All on one laptop at the same time and sharing user data)

I wanted it to replace my iBook (which was a lovely machine) but I was after something with an intel processor specifically for this project. I can then use it for testing everything and as a 2nd machine. I can program on the macbook pro and test on the macbook or have the manual on the macbook etc etc.

The new mac pro is lovely but the variant 1 and 2 models are virtually as good for far less cash!!

I am seriously thinking of selling my mac pro to fund a D700 though, together with my Wacom A4 Intuios tablet and a few other bits and pieces it might be about enough..... :)

That's impressive... should be an interesting thread. At the moment I'm quite happily running XP through Parallels. There's only a couple of things I run on windows, though - Office 2007 and GTA Vice City :D

Yeah, the G4's were great and G5's even better, but the Intel chips are on another level of speed.

On a multi machine topic... I still haven't found 'the one true way' to the sync the iMac to my Macbook. File Sync seems to work OK, but it's not a install and forget app. I'm still looking for the magic bullet...

what about me.com?

It had its teething troubles last year during the transition from .mac, but, touch wood. it's doing a great job syncing for me now, own MacBook Pro, own PC, and several new unibody Macbooks I borrow from work.

re. me.com. I tried their trial version and it was down a lot of the time, plus it only syncs the 'apple apps'. I want everything synced...

I started with the good old iPod. Then Macbook. Then Mac Pro. Then iPhone 3G

I also tried the me.com thing. Not worth £70

i have got a macbook pro and am now craving an iMac.
i have absolutely no need to get one but the look pretty and i want one. :)

Mac's have me hooked.

Anyone got an old eMac ?

I dont, but my sisters boyfriend is a self employed graphics designer and thats what he uses.

Im on my second mac mini, bought my first august last year, but late last week i replaced it with the new mini with nvidia 9400m graphics.

Also have an iphone 3g

Couldnt live without either of them now.

I'm suffering from the same symptom of the disease:bonk:

As of last weekend I am now an owner of a 24" iMac.
Just heard back from sodding Adobe
3364651103_0d328255cf_o.gif
, that they will not cross platform transfer my CS3 as they don't support it any more!!! Shame the media is not like LR2 which comes capable of installing on Mac as well as Windows.
I am bloody lucky I can get the sudent version of CS4 at the cheap rate, but I would rather had that money to spend on some external drives, as the 500gb in the iMac is nothing compared to the 2.25TB I have in my pc.

Will have to look out for Cowaskis tips now!!

I just found this out - it cost £168 to transfer my license cross media and to upgrade from CS3 to CS4. Knew I should have transferred earlier when CS3 was still in vogue!

Nope, think i have got a natural immunity to the disease:)
