the john terry racism stuff

Not as far as I am aware, but it is the most likely reason. As I have mentioned all boils down to duty of care.

She gets attacked and the police have to answer for it. They can't win tbh.

Fair enough I suppose but why should she need protection?

Protection was probably the wrong word on my part. For her safety would be better, as I say on the Internet national papers, won't be difficult to recognise her.

Firstly revenge attacks, secondly if she is known to be locked up, maybe it prevents a case of mistaken identity on some poor innocent.

Thanks John, but it seems a strange situation to be in when one woman who is either drugged or drunk! has upset a few people by verbal questions and suggestions (I know) gets locked up but the hundreds threatening and suggesting violence towards her aren't even considered? ...... What a sad world it has become.

I don't like Terry one bit either, but I applaud the result. This should have been settled between the two of them.

I'm just surprised he didn't have his Chelsea kit on underneath his suit to celebrate!

The court side may be over but he still has to face the FA who have yet to make a decision.

how can they punish him if a court of law proved him innocent?

exactly!

I'd be surprised if the FA did anything at all and if they did, i'd imagine john terry would have a lot of clout for the appeal given he was quitted in an actual court rather than the FA office.

Great news and a big two fingers up to the idiots who thought he should not have gone to the euros. Innocent until guilty!!!!

Shame the FA f***wits stripped him of captaincy, although I suppose that meant capello quit and we got Roy which is good.

it also shows that fabio was right to stand by his man. I have a lot of respect for capello and now it would seem he was in the right

They could charge them both with unsporting behaviour or such likes..........

Some guy on sky news said Terry would likely be charged by the FA with brining the game into disrepute.

Some guy on sky news said Terry would likely be charged by the FA with brining the game into disrepute.

hard to see how that would stick given that he's been found not guilty in court - its the f***witt who decided to pursue the case that brought the game into disrepute

also surely ferdinand is equally guilty of that by chasing terry halfway down the pitch hurling abuse about terry shagging bridge's missus

Peter, both players admitted saying nasty stuff, that in itself is unacceptable and therefore brings the game into disrepute. It has nothing to do with JT being a racist or not.

If the PL do nothing then they themselves are bringing the game into disrepute by not acting on players guilty of abuse. (it does not have to be racial, as in Ferdinands case)

yeah but if both players admitted saying nasty stuff then both are equally culpable and both should be charged - charging only terry looks like racial discrimination in the other direction.

Also hasnt the FA got better things to worry about than " he called me a bad name" " yeah well he said it first " yeah but you smell" " and i'll get you at play time" - stand them both in the naughty corner and forget the whole thing

But it just not name calling, it is abuse. The Suarez brigade will be along shortly.

Every game on TV you can see a player swear, curse, and throw abuse at another player, referee or linesman. It' s part and parcel of the game, you'll never stop it. If the FA use the video evidence in this case then there are 100's of players who could be charged as well.
Swearing cursing etc is part of life at work at school ( some kids put an adult to shame with their language). If the FA bring a charge against either player then there should be 100's of players charged on a Monday after a weekend of games.
It's a red card offence but how many times have you seen a player sent off for telling the ref to f€$k off if a decision doesn't go their way.
I suppose half the fans go to games with ear plugs in as well so they don't hear the abuse from the stands thrown at ref's and players.
The trouble is there are to many people in this world who can dish it out but can't take it. Man up and get on with life.

I am sure that if I called a black person a choc ice, and police overheard, I would be charged with something, or if I did it on here I would be serving a ban or suspension... So I really do hope that rio gets punished for tweeting that remark about Ashley cole. Quite ironic that he does that on the back of his brother allegedly being racially abused. Is he really that thick or stupid? Or maybe he is just a ****.

Is Ashley Cole to be believed? Who knows - it's a funny old game.

if he tweeted it , the comment must still exist on the twitter server records (even if he deleted it from public view)

Which in effect is what John Terry did.

That was the court's conclusion, yes.

Unfortunately, unlike Twitter there are no screen grabs of Terry's outburst so we have to take his and Cole's word for what happened (not that anyone should have a problem with that of course as they're both fine, outstanding men of impeccable character :) ).

Edit: The article says that Rio's been tweeting his favourite films recently, which he states are "Liar, Liar" and "Cock & Bull Story". :D I like Rio Ferdinand, he seems like a good bloke.

U think someone who endorses a racist comment on twitter is a good bloke???? He is a muppet. Good to think he will not play for England again in all probability.

Did he endorse it or was he being sarcastic (as he claimed in a later tweet according to the article?) :). As for playing for England - I'm surprised he wants to be associated with them tbh.

bit harsh TBH, Choc-Ice is a term black people use for other black people who are more white inside than they are on the outside. Also Rio is black, so he can say what he likes about other black people..

Catn stand Terry, he comes across as a cocky man-slapper and in all probability did say what he was alledged to have said, but it should never have gone to court. FA should have dealt with it, not the courts.

its not racist per se - but its certainly abusive -I guess you guys would take a fairly dim view of it being used as an insult on TP !

my view is that they are all as bad as each other

terry - what sort of guy shags his team mates missus ? , total contravention of the bros before hos principle

Ferdinand - comes across like a total arse , i mean why did he follow terry down the pitch shouting abuse at him in the first place - is that how a highly paid proffesional is expected to behave.

b Also Rio is black, so he can say what he likes about other black people..

I hate this train of thought. I don't think someone's skin colour whatever it is should make a racist comment ok.

actually thinking about it , joes right (not something i say very often) because he's essentially saying that cole is 'white on the inside' intimating that being white is a bad thing and therefore its a racist comment

if you turned it round and one white player alledged that another was or wanted to be black by way of an insult - there'd be uproar

to be fair kids on the school feild call each other significantly worse than that already !

The worst thing to come out of it is now kids on the school field will think it acceptable to call another a black c*** because John Terry did it.

I very much doubt this court case will have people saying that who weren't saying it before. In fact I thinks that's the least likely event from this court case.

What is forgotten is that it was Wayne Bridges EX missus that he was shagging. They were separated.

were they ? - thought it was terry playing hide the sausage that caused them to break up - however while doing your mates Ex isnt quite as bad , its still not best behaviour

I agree. How can u have equality? If its derogatory then it shouldn't matter who says it.

It's not a racist comment though. Are you offended by it?

People cheat all the time with work colleagues or their partners.
