Yeah some features are hardly revolutionary but you'll probably find nobody who runs iOS and likes it cares what other systems have had for a while.

Installed this last night and so far quite enjoying it. A change is as good as a rest as they say.

Keep stumbling across new features. The multitasking management is a lot nicer than iOS 6 for example.
 
That will start to restrict you as new apps and features that need ios7 come out

The clues in the name, the iPhone. Not the iMap or the iMobileinternetaccesspoint, or even the iEmail.

Any apps in the future will still be secondary to the use of the phone

Joe, don't take this the wrong way but I've been a smartphone user since they came out and I know what I use/need. When I say I don't *need* anything beyond what I already have then that's all there is to it, there's nothing to elaborate on. I'm not saying there aren't things that would be handy; there may well be, but unless someone brings out an app that makes my iPhone go to the bar and buy the next round it's unlikely to revolutionise my life. Also Apple have a long, long history of new versions of iOS slowing phones down drastically which I can't be bothered with. My phone works just fine the way it is, it's that simple.

So why buy an iPhone? Why not buy a £20 mobile phone?

I am curious as to why there is so much frustration in this thread. Overall I think it looks new & fresh.

Because at least then i have the option of using some of the secondary functions it may have. If it didn't work as a phone I wouldnt buy it, no matter how amazing the secondary functions may be.

My iPhone did only cost me £20 btw

Nonsense. I'm an end user, not a developer. What's wrong with sticking to whatever you have if it works fine for you?

This is why discussions like this descend into mayhem, too many people telling others what they need to be using rather than just accepting the fact that people might just amazingly, remarkably, unbelievably, be perfectly happy with whatever they already have. :bang:

Joe, there was a serious point behind what I said and it related directly to you. You do have a habit of pushing people to a point where they'll bite rather than just accepting what they say as being their opinion which doesn't come across as friendly, it comes across as argumentative. When the biting point is reached you sit back and do the whole 'agree to disagree' thing when in fact it should never have reached that point in the first place.

Perhaps it's something you should be a little more aware of and try avoid in future?

Its definitely got a Fisher Price look to it, I can understand how it might not be to every ones taste.

I don't understand why you can't change it though, it can't be that difficult to offer a few options in design and style without compromising the UI.
 
Can anyone confirm that there is no movement in file management or access restrictions? Does the tiny bit of "everything" still needs to be done via itunes?

I am just thinking if I'd rather had Nexus 10 instead of iPad....

It seems my theory may well be correct. Several design teams, some from outside Apple's own design team, all working to their own agenda within the central remit.

A clear indication as to why the design is so disjointed and lacking any sort of harmony.

I'm still amazed Ive allowed it, and I'll have a sportsman's now with anyone that at least one of the icons will change before general launch :bonk:

I'll take that sportsmans bet. Which icon in particular do you expect to be changed by the way?

I suspect it will run sluggishly on it, my 4 struggles with the latest iteration.

As much as I hate to say it, out of all the mobile operating systems, I am starting to be drawn to Windows. Out of the lot, it looks to be the most modern.

From the few bits I have read, it strikes me that this is mainly a visual overhaul and Apple and the under-the-hood elements haven't changed greatly.I get the impression that they have run of the old design with a steam roller, and spilt paint all over it.

I have an upgrade coming soon, just trying to decide if I should stay with Apple (I like how it can link with my ipad), or move on

If I wasn't such a :geek: I'd have a Windows phone. Ms Andy has a WinPho 7.5 and as a UI I think it's brilliant. It just lacks tools I often use the phone for (decent network signal info, ping/dns testing etc).
