The incident last night is entirely f***ing unacceptable.

Being an ex squaddie who served in Northen Ireland and the first Gulf War I dont see anything wrong with what the Exec said. At the end of the day the bloke was sleeping on duty which could have resulted in carnage had one of the many fanatical organisations chosen this time to act.

SOrry guys but the bloke chose to serve in HM Forces and should have known the rollocking he and others would get by being caught slleping on duty.

what amazes me more is that people think that the Sun is the best place to send videos like this :| It amazes me people think the Sun is the best for anything though to be fair.
 
he was lucky it was the modern forces...


had he been a roman for example then the punishment for falling asleep when on duty was death - normally by being beaten to death by blows to the body so you cant just black out.

when you join the forces other people have to be able to rely on you to do your job. their lives depend on it. he was lucky to just get a bollocking. I would expect he got a serious beasting too. the froces are not a primary school playground. to put ot bluntly if you are upset by a bit of swearing then the forces are so not the place for you. (says he who seeemd to spend more time on jankers than he did in the mess :) )

Ditto, I'd also be looking at the bloke who filmed it and send it to the Sun, surely it's against the rules to film inside a sub and release it to the media.

If they don't like it then leave.
 
I believe he up for a Courts Martial the sentry that is.

The XO was absolutely spot on. It may not be the softy way some people think that things should be done these ways, but at the right time and place (which this is) its the only thing some people understand.
To be honest, I didnt find it that bad at all. Heard and done much worse in my time managing workshop staff.
So long as the seriousness is brought over in whatever way is required and once you/they leave that room, you all get on with the job. No feeling sorry for yourself.
The guy that sent the vid to The Sun should get chucked out. Pathetic.
The media should be praising the XO for how he handled the situation and bringing over how serious a situation this was.
What do they expect, a big group hug and wiping each others ar%*s for gods sake.
If you're paid to do a job, do it right. I expect that of my window cleaner, so we should all get that of these blokes.

I'm ranting. I'll go now before I really start.....
