You know, gear we buy, it seems like we never use it or it doesnt seem to be working ou tand gets sold or binned. Then several minutes/days/months later we decide, god I wish I had that back!

For me it would be my Vivitar 24mm f2.8. I'm in the process of reprocessing a lot of old shots taken with my old Oly E520, and for most of the time that was the lens attached to it. At the time it didnt look so good, but I didnt know about Diffraction limiting back then, everything was shot at F16 or F22

I really need to get another fast(er) standard lens!

So what do you wish you'd never parted with?

My Nikon F5 (loaned to my Brother and subsequently lost or stolen - he's not sure which) and my older F2-AS and FM2 bodies (about eight cameras in all) and all my old MF lenses, which I practically gave away.

Bronica ETRSi with 75mm - just a great camera that I loved using.

Wish still had access to a Cambo 5x4" too :(

Canon G10, I had it for about 18months as my compact/holiday camera. Decided I was too tempted by the Panasonic GF-1 to replace it, so sold the G10 and redundant 350D to fund it. As much as I love the GF-1, I still wish I'd kept the G10.

Looking back, I didn't need to sell it, but it would've been so wasted sitting in a bag not being used.

Nikon D50. I didn't sell it, it broke, but hell II want one again.

Lancia Integrale. Should never have sold it. What a car.

A black MX5 MK1 with steel wheels.

I've check the DVLA and it's not registered so I assume it's been scraped. I've had quite a few soft tops but I miss that one more than most.

On the photography side the only thing that I regret selling is a Siggy 28-300mm. It's probably not a well loved lens and I've seen it take a kicking in reviews but I got good results with it and took some of my favourite shots with it. It made a great holiday and day out lens. Dunno whay I sold it really.

Just about everything I ever owned, but mostly

1, a Meade LX90 telescope. I bought bigger and more expensive ones, but none had the magic this one had.
2, Alfa Romeo GTV6 2.5. Enough said!
3, Nikon 80-200 AF-S. Rare as hens teeth now, a fantastic lens. Much nicer and better balanced than the newer 70-200 vr.

Cant go on anymore, cant see through the tears....:'(

My 18-70mm kit lens. I purchased my Minolta 50mm f1.7 and stopped using the 18-70mm after a while so I sold it and then about 3/4 months ago I needed something a bit wider and that's when I regretted selling it. I've since purchased the newer 18-55mm kit lens for £45 from RGB Photo which is an amazing lens! I'm going to keep it for now until I can afford to either get some new lenses or sell all my DSLR gear and get some NEX/M43 gear :D

I should never have got rid of my canon 100mm f2 and tokina 400mm f5.6 atx lens. And I had a nifty fifty once as well! I really want a decent portrait lens now! Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it :bonk:

10-20mm
Couldn't afford a new SB900 so had to trade the 10-20.
a great lens for having fun with yet a serious piece of glass as well.

My Yamaha XT660 and then the bike which I sold it for, an Enfield Bullet.
I'm only saying that as my Sporty is suffering from the winter salt right now, I love it really.
Camera related, quite missed my F100 while I still had Nikon lenses. Don't miss it so much now I'v gone Canon and I did make a good profit from it.
15mm Sigma fisheye. It was a daft lens but lovely all the same.

The list is long. All sold mainly for financial reasons:

Cam gear all sold to raise cash years ago:
17-40L
70-200 f/2.8 L
50mm f/1.4
My old tamrac bag

My decks and vinyl record collection - needed the money and space

GSXR 600 Motorbike - money

All my old fast cars - sold to replace with family cars
I really miss my old VW Corrado G60 Supercharged in Burgandy Pearlecsent paint. :(

Fuji bridge cam S6500fd - no other camera has had the same 'fit' or feel. The hand grip was perfect, had to sell it on as it wasn't used at all- great cam tho.

Nikon AF-S 35mm f1.8 G DX, although about to sell a 55-200mm to fund a new one. I traded it to get my Samyang 8mm but do miss it now.

Same here :(

My father-in-law has one - the 'La Perla' version...
Personally, I think it looks like a bicuit-tin on wheels, but apparently they're the business...

Fuji S5500 bridge, I consider it my first proper camera. Taught me the basics of manual controls and just felt right. After I sold it for a relative pittance after getting a D40, I immediately bought an S5800, but was wasn't the same at all, so punted it on too.

One in the for sales for £90, if you wanna go back!

Yes I saw that, very nice to hold. But having gotten use to responsive modern cams using it now would just frustrate me. I wish Fuji made a low MP bridge cam like this again without a massive zoom range.

Noticed you've got a S9600- how is that treating you? I bought one as an upgrade to the 6500. Sold it a month afterwards as I found that pics were nosier, screen smaller and the ergonomics meant it didn't feel just as right as the 6500.

Canon 135mm f2.8 (the soft focus one) - physically small and always produced nice results.

My Specialized Demo. My Cove Shocker may be a flashier, boutique frame but I'm still not convinced it is a better bike

i miss my 100mm 2.8 macro the most. i didn't use it for true macro hardly at all but i do miss the close focussing distance and i know i shall get another one one day.

i also returned my sigma 50mm 1.4 - i'll probably get another one of those one day too, a great lens.

A long old list... At the top would be my 35-350 L the poor thing was very battered and I didn't get much for it trading in... Would love another one day. Also My 300 f4, it wasn't getting enough use so it went, there are time that I really wish it was still in the bag. I really regretted selling my Swarovski telescope, but I needed to sell it to fund another purchase and I thought I'd be as happy with my new toy, how wrong I was. Regretted that for almost two years before finally finding a good deal on one and buying it back.

My Gran

My first girlfriend, she was a right little.........

Wasn't the one I ended up marrying was it....she was a right little....also !

My wife, she wasnt a bad old stick at the end of the day, but the new one is ok.....:o)

Well I thought we were just talking photographic equipment, but when it comes to that.....

Canon 100mm macro, bought one secondhand, got I'll and it sat pretty much unused, now working out how to afford another one...

My 70-200mm F2.8 L IS & 1.4x sold them because they spent most of their time in my bag and they were a beast to cart around.

Regretted it about a month later :(

One day I will get round to getting the MkII version

85L 1.2:'( it wasn't getting used enough

Frogeye sprite, although the MX5 we have now is far better in almost every way (apart from exhaust note and crackle on the over-run). Wish I still had the Firenza too - not a droop snoot, just the go faster Viva HE version. Ran out of coolant, lubricant and MOT when I was short of folding so had to go to the scrapyard.

Photographically, I wish I'd had the cash to buy all Dad's old film kit when he cashed it in to help him fund his first digital camera. A small selection of M42 Pentax kit including a spottie, bellows and a few lenses. IIRC, there was a Rolei TLR in the box as well but that was well worn and a bit dodgy on focus.
