These are all really cool i really need to try this can anyone tell me where i can find some beginner tutorials or is it better just to go trial and error

Ok so here is my idea..

I created the sun using a normal round object, adjusted inner and outer glow to give it some colour and dropped the opacity to make it blend in.
The tree shadows were copies using the lasso tool, pasted then blend mode set to Linear Burn and dropped opacity to 33%.
The sun beams and glow were done following a tutorial which in essence creates a new layer using the colour channel with the highest black and white contrast - you then give it a radial "zoom" blur and add a few more effects like outer glow and change blend mode to overlay.
I added a bit more of a yellow effect to the photo using Photoshops Image Adjustment - Photo filter and gave it some yellow/sepia style.

Here's my attempt - that's a drunk I took in Soho Square last weekend after a bit too much Kestrel Super Strength during the Royal Wedding.

Any chance of getting a high res version of that please? :) Makes for a more professional edit than if I work with a small thing like this!
 
agree with htid that it is a small pic on GIMP, but I had a play with more effects :thumbs:
