The "how would you edit this photo" game.

As you can tell I have time on my hands:D

Thought I would have another go as not sure I like the other one..

What technique does everyone use to cut people/objects out of busy pictures? Looking at youtube videos but there's so many ways of doing it and I'm not sure which way would be best?

I use the quick selection tool to copy into a new layer then I use the eraser tool to rid of any bits that find their way into the layer that shouldn't be there.

As it's only a game I don't spend a lot of time doing this.

Thanks Wayne - I was thinking of something along the lines of Excalibur but you have covered this nicely with the mist and dungeon type room - did he drown?

I find the level of skills and imagination here amazing

I hope not it's me! ;)

Well, I like them all to be honest! But I have to say the late comer has stolen the show. There's somehing subtle yet exciting about it! Nice edit, well done mate! Over to you Scottie!

Thanks Zero ... didnt expect that, but thank you.

Took this one this morning while trying to find bluebells ... not the best, but thought there is enough room to have a good play!

Good luck and have fun

out of interest, on average how long do you guys spend doing these?

It's going to vary a lot depending on the work involved, mine took about 5 mins but I was probably as long or longer trying to find a suitable plane image from my images.

Here is my effort ;) I agree with wayne it takes longer to find the right bits than it does to pp :D

hmm hopefully ill have time to have a go tonight, loving these so far :)

I havent even had a go in lightroom, i dont find it as easy to use as Photoshop and most of the basic functions are exactly the same as PS anyway!

I don't think lightrooms the best tool for this, you can't cut and paste things in, and theres only limited selective ajustment, you really need photoshop (or similar) for the fiddly stuff like this.

^ I really like that :)

I find LR brilliant and simpler to use for the basic tweaks for a load of photos imo (I'm more used to it than PS), whereas PS is needed for editing content.
