The Hidden costs of BREXIT

Perhaps RN ships (do we still have any?) could pick them up, lock them up below and take them to France?
That is one option, though I imagine the French would apply their well known pragmatism and just blockade the Royal Navy's ships.

Generally, I think there comes a point where a particular law (local, national or international) is clearly unfit for purpose. At that point, surely, all the affected parties need to consider their position and decide if they need to change the law or just "adjust" their adherence or otherwise to that law?

Well apparently when every body (except me) votes Reform at the next general election Farage will have it all sorted that week.

Ah! the Trumpian 'promise' method of getting the popular votes election. That worked oh so well for the Americans, didn't it :thinking: :headbang:

Well, the French police have finally done something:)

But according to the WatO news, it seems it is more likely a 'one off' rather than a change in French policy

yep it has, don't know what the answer is the "Pro Reform" brigade seem to be just as blind. I am happy for them to get on with it to be fair.

Be aware that, just as Labour have found it hard to resist the presence of the grey pound, another less socially concerned political party might see it as an easy and obvious low-hanging fruit.

It was New Labour that started the uncontrolled immigration crisis. Bliar and Meddlesome. The EU told the UK several times that fhey could not opt out or amend any of the EU Immigration policies. Barnier told the UK that they could not opt out or amend EU Immigration policies. Brexit happened, Barnier retired. Barnier told French public that they could opt out or amend EU Immigration policies. EU is now exploring immigration processing camps in Rwanda, paying despots to prevent them crossing the Med'. Now France has employed 4,000 immigration staff who are tasked with deporting illegal immigrants and Germany has stepped up its deportation program both of which has increased uncontrolled migration to the UK.

Not forgetting Sweden who are now wanting to offer over $30k for migrants to leave. Recent video interviewing a few also revealed this and guess where they went? Ireland.

If we were in the EU, or not the whole issue with illegal migrant's will all ways be a problem, in as far as I can remember it has always been the news. This problem just never gets sorted as their is no country ( apart from rwanda ) we have a treat with to return illegal vistors.
The French just let the illegals pass through their contry and on to the beaches, or the euro tunnel. As long as they are not in France it is not their problem.

Poland has the right idea build a a bloody big wire fence with land mines, and machine gun towers ! !

Blair's govt did allow it, but others have not really addressed it either. Cameron had the chance of affecting it at one point but chickened out: he could have required people to have paid into the social security system for at least 3/6 months before becoming eligible for benefits, just as France and other EU countries do, which would have reduced the "pull-factor", but he chickened out because there were too many Brits who hadn't paid in so wouldn't be able to claim anything. Same rules should apply.

Well, the French police have finally done something:)

Aye, I saw a short clip of them puncturing a boat. Handy having that BBC crew conveniently on hand to film it just before Macron visits.... lol
