Is there one? If not can this be it?

First q's from me - Im about half way through (48% complete) and of all 3 characters, the most money I have is about 120,000. With all these properties that you can buy costing from 200,000 up to into the millions, how / when do you get the money to be able to buy one?

Also, the hidden packages, apparently there are some on the seabed. Ive followed a couple of youtube vids but when I dive down there is nothing there to be be picked up. Huh?

All these contacts that keep getting added to your phone as you progress, is it ever worth ringing them? In GTA IV you could build up friendships with various characters to get perks like: call the police off, get help with a gang on shootouts, get first aid, get discounts in shops etc. Is this in GTA V at all?

Cheers for any tips/advice!

Have you done any of Lesters missions, you need to save them until the end, keep all the money from the heists then do Lesters missions and invest the money, i ended up with about 120 million for each character.

Ok thanks. I kind of knew not to do Lesters until the end. Trouble with me is once I finish the main story I tend to move onto a different game.

After the submarine heist I got 20 million, was just thinking cushty, and then had to gve it all back. Doh.

think im around 70% through and each character has around $1.5m, doing missions in no particular order. Besides COD4, this is probably the best game i've ever played.

funny......nsfw btw

You want give Borderlands 2 a go. I spent weeks on that prior to starting GTA V. Will check out the vid later. (y)

Finished another heist last night, wearing the armour and escaping on the train. Each character got just under 500, 000 so I was able to buy the sonar dock place and the cab company.

Did anyone manage to do the mission where Trevor flies the plane into the back of the cargo plane? That was ridiculously hard. I had to skip most of it in the end before I threw the controller through the screen.

I have played through the game twice now and managed it on my first attempt both times. The hardest mission i thought was the one where you had to shoot the plane engine 3 times with a long range rifle out of the back of a van.

That was hard until I remembered Michael had the "slow down time" special ability, then, not so hard.

I've just done the FBI heist and survived having all factions shooting at me (as Michael) with Trevor assissting in sniper duties...utter carnage fleeing and being pursued by the helicopter demolishing anything in it's way. Managed it first time though as I luckily drove down the entrance to a tube station then popped back out with the RPG. Game Over :)

Finished the main story missions last night. Chose the wrong option from the 3 I think. Went for the "Kill Michael" option and think I should really have gone for "Deathwish".

So then I had £30 million quid and no missions left to do. Whats the point of that? Apart from the bore-athon of collecting the spaceship bits and the letters is there anything else worth doing? Stunt jumps still left with about 42 as well. Would be helpful if it told you why you'd failed.

Ive still got Franklins assassination missions left, apart from the Redwood cigarette one. I invested in the opposition shares, did the assassinations, waited for the shares to peak, sold them off and got 20 million profit then invested back into the original as apparently they rebound but theyve just sat at negative return ever since. £50 mill up the swanee, doh!

Cheers for any tips.

I could venture into online multiplayer I guess but because Im old and slow I invariably just end up being shot all the time!

Yes it's wise to have an alternative saved game (done through the phone) somewhere near the end so you can still access all 3 characters after the main missions are done if you happened to kill one of them off. I killed Trevor and then realised I couldn't do half of the stuff I'd saved for after the missions so I went back to the start again.

Then it's a case of if you want to do the other stuff like Trevor's massacre missions (the orange skulls) or his drug running missions from the airstrip north of the main lake, the car, boat and triathlon races, the skydives etc (the ones you've done now have a tick after the last update). You might also find you have a mission still pending on Franklin which is the recovery truck stuff. You have to phone Tonya? Tonica? for that. You can also play the missions you didn't choose when there was a 50-50 choice such as the 2 alternatives for the jewellery store heist. There's a few other random things that pop up.

You can buy lesser businesses and build up some money from those over time but it's a bit of a long haul. It' better to buy a load of shares before you do one of Lester's assassinations. Instant profit.

Creed4 next for me!

Cheers Kev.

Ive done most of the Para jumps, getting pretty good by now. Trevs rampage missions all done. Done a fair few drug running missions. Although struggled with bombing the moving train one.

The flight school thing Ive just rememebred Ive not completed. Is hard with the bloody helicopter though, couldnt get round the course nowhere near quick enough to pass.

The thing with the money though and investing in shares before mssions etc is, what is the point? Say you buy all the properties, then what? If theres nothing to do with the money, why bother collecting it?

Redoing the 50-50 missions a good call although I may start again from scratch and do that.

Maybe I'll try and go back to a save before I made the choice and redo the deathwish option.

I suppose 100% completion worth trying for maybe although its more googling than gaming with finding the parts and letters and stunt jumps even.

The Last of Us next for me - once I see it for less than £30 that is! And I see theres a Thief game out for PS4, one of my favourite series of games those were. My PS3 will last a while yet though I think.

Thanks again. Any more tips feel free to keep em coming.

Well yeah but I think it's mainly for the people who like to get 100% of everything. It can be quite good fun just tooling around. When I first got it I could easily play for an hour and not actually do any missions. Just bomb about investigating and doing what ever side missions I came across.

I think I'm on about 80% now but short of finding all the little bits of 50 items dotted about I haven't really got anything big left to do. I fancy doing the jumps though (you largely have to land on the wheels and clear anything in between you and what the target landing point is - cleared the derelict hotel in a souped up veyron without any bother! :)). I found the 30 submarine parts (triggered from a remote pier at the top left) and expected a bit more of a reward than just a little bit of cash.

Did you do the Trevor altruist drop offs? Quite amusing.

Where's that then?
And did you try the jump on the BMX type big board by the airport where theres a mini stuck to the top right? Where you supposed to land on that one?

Funnily enough that apparently the best property to get for early return on investment. Foolishly though I stopped half way through collecting and next time I tried I had to steam all the way down to the bottom of the map in the sub, took friggin ages. Bit like Michaels 5 mile walk in the Kifflom story. Although the "reward" you got once you completed the Kifflom missions was hilarious, well, pretty funny anyway.

No I'll have to give that a try!

The hotel is due west of Trevor's house by the big lake. You take the straight road west and the ramp is next to a lamppost at the T junction right in front of you. It's where there was a mission shooting coyotes when you first get a scoped rifle.
Yes I've done the big ramp jump and I think you're supposed to land on the roof of the building opposite but I might be wrong.

Mmm haven't done that one either. Looks like I've got more work to do :)

It would be good if Chop could be trained to be used to find the spaceship parts/ letters.

The Kifflom story arc is worth doing if a bit tedious at times but is fairly funny in places. One tip, dont shoot anyone during the 5 mile walk/run, if the police are alerted and you get killed you have to start all over again and as you cant get in a car to escape, fairly likely.

Ive restarted now in a different account and linked the iFruit app with my ps3 login. Means I can customize cars, add amusing number plates and train chop to do tricks i think.

Maybe we could meet up online in it at some point, might be a laugh.

I've given up with the game now, to be honest I'm bored of it. It's fun to muck about with a bunch of mates now and again but that's about it, you soon get skint with buying ammo from all the rampage. Rockstar have killed online. They make it hard to earn cash so they want you to buy their cash cards. Every time I find a mission worth grinding for cash they go and nurf it or by the time you have done a few missions and need more ammo you end up skint again from restocking, and they wonder why a lot of people have cheated and still do...cough cough:whistle:.

By the way I'm not one of those dicks that runs around with God Mode on and glitching RP. I'm not paying for cash cards, I'll find my own ways without grinding repetitive missions for hours on end lol.

Greed ruining everything again, pain in the proverbial isnt it.

Indeed. A lot of games are like it now but not as bad. I've been playing Forza over the past week, I'll probably have a blast on GTA tonight for a laugh, not played it since valentines day.

Anyone playing GTA V on the PS3? Reason I ask is there are supposed to be 12 hidden packages in the sea containing money. Ive followed a youtube guide exactly but when I get down to where the package is supposed to be there's nothing there. Wondering if maybe only the PC version has them or something?

Cheers

Might have a look at that tonight!

I stupidly got to the end of the game and chose to kill Trevor. Dumb move... Now I can only free roam with Dave and Franklin :(

Worth playing through again so you can choose the alternative missions on the ones where you had a choice.

Finished this last night. Picked option C as I felt that was the obvious choice. The final mission and ending were a mighty disappointment.

There's plenty to do, but it depends how easily amused you are. Here's a list of some of the things I do just for laughs in GTA single player:-
-Buy the tank and the cargobob, and lift the tank to obscure places (like rooftops) and shoot the crap out of everything for the next half hour while the local law enforcement goes crazy.
-Drive on to the runway at the airport and crash into planes as they're taking off. They blow up and fall to bits in a comical "clown car" style.
-Steal a jet from Fort Zancudo airbase
-Kit out a car that and go for a drive through Rockford hills and Vinewood hills - my favourite one for this is the Comet as with the right moves you can kick the back out and drift round corners.
-Steal a truck with a trailer on, drive up next to a muscle car and pretend you're smokey and the bandit.
-drive around randomly sticky-bombing cars and generally cause carnage in good old classic GTA style.
-kit out a car and drive up mount chiliad. The Karin BeeJay XL is surprisingly good for this as it's true 4WD (the Sandking is not). Go for max armour in case you take a tumble. The engine mods help give you the extra juice to get up the steepest parts.
-steal or find the Enus Super Diamond (Rolls Royce?), kit it out with max armour and drive around crashing into things. The car is so heavy and tough that it'll tip other vehicles or even cause them to fall apart like something out of a cartoon. Expect death eventually, but it's fun...
-Lastly, meet up with the other characters and go for a good old fashioned p***up. You can also get an achievement while all three of you are in the car by annoying the police to 3 stars and then just escaping them.

I found the 30 submarine parts (triggered from a remote pier at the top left) and expected a bit more of a reward than just a little bit of cash.

Apparently it's not about the cash but about the car the woman gets in when you finish the mission. If you kill her as she opens the door you can take the car, which is the rare Asea. You can then do this to it at a garage. I haven't done it yet myself but the word is you have to shoot her before she gets in and closes the door, as it locks and you won't be able to take the car.

Bit like Michaels 5 mile walk in the Kifflom story. Although the "reward" you got once you completed the Kifflom missions was hilarious, well, pretty funny anyway.
If it's the tractor you're talking about, you took the bait. The "real" reward is to get in the blue Audi which has over a million in the boot and floor it as soon as you get out onto the open road. If you manage it without getting rogered by the police and the Kifflom security (it's not that hard, use a tunnel) then you escape with the money and a blue Audi. You don't even go to the final meet.

That's not the worst bit about online, the fact that they "fixed" tank sniping and appear to have altered/reduced/removed the bad sport system has made it greatly unbalanced. Sniping people in tanks was the great leverage to tank trolls, and it wasn't difficult to do once you'd gotten the hang of it. Now they "fixed" that there's no easy way to leverage a tank anymore. LINK to tank sniping.

I actually bought a tank fairly early on in online when me and my mates caned it every night. having a tank was a great thing for crowd control, as it doesn't matter how good you are, when 5 people at once decide to start picking on you, you NEED the backup. The tank was the perfect crowd thwarter, but a lack of means of leveraging it just means everyone drives around in them now, and online has pretty much become "Grand Theft Auto: Baghdad edition"...

If anyone still plays online and wants someone to kick back with I'll be willing to have a go. I have a K/D ratio of 5.5 and can teach most people a thing or two about how to be awesome in a buzzard helicopter...

Anything?

Ive finished the missions now, took option C this time. Doing the Assassinations and trying to build up cash now. As well as trying to do the under the bridge flights(5 left), and get the three man army trophy.
